Are You Afraid of Success?

Are You Afraid of Success?

We won’t name names. However, we’ve all seen it –... More

We won’t name names. However, we’ve all seen it – usually with a celebrity – a person who is on the verge of bigg success, but then they go through a meltdown. ___ ___ We wonder what could have caused it. Usually, it’s a very individual thing but there are some common reasons: #1 – Self-doubt You’re not sure that you can handle bigg success. You worry about what you don’t know. You dwell on what you don’t have (a common worry is not having the right degree). You tell yourself all the reasons why you don’t deserve this level of success, even though you’re so close to it. #2 – Fear of loss If you become more successful than your friends, what will they think? Will they still be your friends? Will they be jealous of your success? You know the answer to these questions already. What kind of friend wouldn’t be thrilled with your bigg success? #3 – Fear of embarrassment This fear is a carry-over from childhood – that adolescent fear of standing out from the group. You’re afraid of what people will think if they see you fail. Which leads us to … #4 – Fear of failure You may think that it’s better to have never experienced bigg success, than to have it and then lose it. Somehow it’s better to never get there. But why do you assume it will be fleeting? The net result is that we talk ourselves out of succeeding bigg. We accept that it’s better to be part of the crowd than to blaze our own trail. We feel more comfortable. It seems less risky. But we’re wrong! How to conquer your fear of bigg success #1 – Self-talk is so important. ___ As a first-time entrepreneur, fear has crept in on occasion. I’ve been lucky to have George around. He’s helped me understand that negative self-talk isn’t going to help you succeed. You have to turn it around. ___ ___ Even as an experienced business owner, I still have to battle that little voice that impedes bigg success. You just have to constantly keep telling yourself why you will do it. ___ Think of all the things you’ve done right to get this far. Remind yourself of the obstacles that you faced and how you overcame them. Focus on the things that have already gone your way. #2 – You don’t have to get it perfect; you just have to keep going. It certainly hasn’t been perfect up to this point, has it? So why would it have to be perfect from here on out? Enjoy the journey. Enjoy the growth you’re experiencing. Every time we reach another plateau, we celebrate our victory. Then we look back and realize the victory had already occurred. We grew. We learned so much. That’s the real joy of bigg success! #3 – Success comes one level at a time. Sure you have to keep your eye on that ultimate goal. But you get there one step at a time. You only have to take the next step. You’ve learned enough to know how to do that. Perhaps more importantly, you’ve already learned how to find out anything you don’t already know. #4 – Surround yourself with people who have made it. We can’t possibly over-emphasize this point. Develop a support network of mentors and coaches. People who were once where you are now, but are now where you want to be. Don’t be afraid to take those little steps that lead to bigg success! ___ Get the tips and tools you need to be a BIGG success! Overcoming Fear One Quote at a Time

Overcoming Fear One Quote at a Time

“Worry gives a small thing a big shadow.” Swedish prove... More

“Worry gives a small thing a big shadow.” Swedish proverb   A problem may start out as a small little thing. But worry makes it grow. It becomes all consuming. You can’t stop thinking about it. Your heart beats faster. You can’t fall asleep or you wake up and can’t get back to sleep. It follows you, even when you try to forget about it. It turns to fear. . . “Fear grows in darkness; if you think there's a bogeyman around, turn on the light.” Dorothy Thompson We’re afraid because we’re in the dark. We don’t know what to expect. The future seems so uncertain. It frightens us. To get past that fright, turn on the light! Gather some research. Study the issue. Ask for help. Do anything you can to create more certainty in the face of uncertainty. You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt We fear things we think we can’t do. We fear those problems for which we don’t have a solution. We fear what we’ve never done. Conquer fear by confronting it head-on. Take action. When you do something, you gain control. By gaining control, fear is diminished. I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship. Louisa May Alcott When a storm blows through, there may be damage or there may not. But you faced it! You learned from it – things you did well and things you would change. You gained confidence to tackle yet another situation. We all feel fearful at times. Don’t let it consume you. Confront it head on with a plan of attack. Take action. Then learn. You’ll only become stronger! Subscribe to The Bigg Success Show in iTunes.  Subscribe to the Bigg Success feed.   Related posts These Five Great Quotes Weave the Story of Our Lives    Less

The Truth About Homeopathy

The Truth About Homeopathy

Good enough for the British Royals? A Brief Introduction to Ultra H... More

Good enough for the British Royals? A Brief Introduction to Ultra Homeopathy! The Inner Biochemist The Simple Solution …I bet you didn’t know that Ultrahomeopathy is the only medicine used -yes insisted on- by the British Royal family. …I bet you didn’t know that Ultrahomeopathy is the only medicine that reverses genetic decline… …I bet you didn’t know even simple homeopathy has had amazing results during epidemics… …I bet you didn’t know that every generation experiences genetic decline in North America… From Infertility and conception difficulties, to massively expanded birth difficulties and early childhood disease - including allergies and asthma, to dramatic obesity. You’ll understand in future articles why this genetic weakening is happening - and its outcomes. Now - The internet is amazingly full of misinformation on homeopathy. Why? Because an enormous multi-billion industry that directly influences 150 different countries is very threatened by the success of homeopathy — or any other competitor. The Truth About Homeopathy is that it definitely works, even if the internet is full of falsified information about it (there is a reason for that - see below) - it is the highest form of medicine, nothing can make you feel better, and those who are in good homeopathic hands say it is nothing short of miraculous… that is The Truth About Homeopathy… Now here’s the Why: Examples of efficacy in mass pandemics: When we had the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918, 22 million people died world wide of this virus. Here are some interesting facts: In the US alone, 500,000 deaths were caused by this epidemic. (In a future article, I will explain how viral epidemics work….) Dr Dean W A Pearson, of Philadelphia and Hahnemann College collected data of 26,795 cases of influenza, treated by homeopathic physicians, which showed a mortality rate lower than 1.05%. The mortality rate among those treated by Allopathic medicine - without homeopathic medicine - was 30% to 40%. Now ask yourself: Which risk might -I- like to be exposed to? 1% or 40% chance of death? EXAMPLE: …So what is homeopathy? And what is the the advanced Ultrahomeopathy? DEAR READER: This article is the introduction to another specialty that I have. It is literally a Health Care Revolution! After this introduction, I will refocus on the Inner Biochemistry healthcare revolution for the next few months… as I did in the introductory article about Vitamin C and Calcium. The next article is about “Sugar Burners”… What Is Homeopathy? …So what is simple homeopathy? And what is Ultrahomeopathy? It is a system of medicine founded by Dr Samuel Hahnemann, who lived between 1755 and 1843 in Germany. It is based on a new principal that “like cures like”. What does this mean? A medicine capable of producing certain effects when taken by a healthy human being is capable of curing any illness that displays similar effect… This is known as the “law of Similimum.” A painting of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann - founder of Homeopathy - observing the horrors of “Allopathic Medicine” as it bludgeons and poisons patients to death - even for profit*: (*Note in the US, medical doctors are currently forced to sign contracts with HMO’s guaranteeing patients will not be told of new and better treatments and methods. Thus preserving HMO profits. That’s on top of one of the what is already one of the worst systems of health care per dollar spent. In the area of Cancer alone, new treatments have been received with SWAT Teams, attack dogs, lab burnings, and over 300 cancer-research scientists “dead” over the past 5 years - all under suspicious circumstances… the profits of this industry are enormous - and it stops at nothing to protect them. Cancer books are routinely forced out of circulation by the US Government - without regard to “freedom of the press” or constitutional rights…This is why it’s a big area folks. Better information is often fought savagely, to protect profits. In fact, it’s hard to find good health information on the Internet…a sad comment on the state of democracy, and ethics, but let’s move on with the article…) For example, if a healthy person takes a dose of arsenic, he will develop vomiting, diarrhea, a rapid pulse and prostration. His skin will become cold, and he will grow very anxious. If he continues using arsenic, his nose will be running, he will have a heavy head, cough, and bronchial catarrh. Later he will develop even more specific disturbances of the skin and nervous system. He will have a burning sensation all over, which is relieved by warmth. He will have frequent thirst for sips of water; he will have fear of death, restlessness, and the worsening of symptoms at noon and midnight. Now if any of these symptoms are experienced by a sick person, they can be treated by Arsenicum…. Because you can see that the original substance has attacked the physical level (runny nose, catarrh, cough, etc.) The emotional level (restlessness) and the mental level (fear of death, and prostration) Now - follow me carefully here - because this part is hard for most people to understand: So what is “Arsenicum”. It is arsenic diluted in a special way, take one part arsenic to 99 parts water and mix and shake well ( succussing is extremely rigorous shaking ) … Then take one part of this mixture and mix it again with 99 parts of water - and repeat… This is called dilution and potentization. When you repeat this process 12 times you have *not one atom* of the original substance left in the new mixture. According to the law/constant of Avogadro: To give you some idea how small these doses are - consider a concept of chemistry known as Avagadro’s number: This number is an extremely large number that becomes a negative number, it’s “602″ with twenty one 0’s after that! That represents the number of particles present in any given quantity of substance. It is also known as a “mole”. When you dilute more than 12 times there can’t be any atom left of the original substance. Potencies used commonly today, are 6C, 30C, 200C, 1000C, 10000C and 50000C. EXAMPLE: To give the reader some idea of how extremely diluted, let’s take for example a dilution of 100000C. Let’s describe it in terms of a numerical fraction. Avogadro’s number would correspond roughly to a dilution represented by 1/1000… to a total of 24 zeroes. A potency of 100000C would be represented by a dilution of 1/100000…to a total of 100,000 ZEROES! Inconceivably far beyond the point at which not one atom of original substance is left. Therefore, it has been said that “poison is the remedy for poison…” Hahnemann postulated this principle as “Similia Similibus Curentur” meaning roughly “like is cured by likes.” Ultrahomeopathy is the only medicine where the remedies are tested on human volunteers, or “provers”, to illicit the symptoms they will produce. So now understand that any medicine you put in your body, ie. “Tylenol, Aspirin, Zantac” etc which you take for a symptom, will cause other symptoms…These other symptoms are called by pharmaceutical companies “side effects”. They are not side effects - they are primary effects of the drug quite purposely misunderstood by a for-profit industry. They say “side effects”, because these are the effects that we are not interested in seeing, but everybody who takes that individual drug experiences a multitude of symptoms. It will cause symptoms on the physical level, emotional level, and mental level - even if you just take it for the physical level…depending on your susceptibility level to that substance. EXAMPLE: Taking Tylenol for a headache will come with maybe a bit of nausea, sleepiness, and often constipation. Which is the primary effect? And which is the secondary effect? To look at it accurately - They are all primary effects. So take for example common side effects of pharmaceutical drugs, headache, nausea, constipation, dizziness, death. This has become the number one cause of death in North America - right now. …Depending on how susceptible you are to a substance that is how you will react. The individuals who are extremely susceptible to a drug can have a real anaphylactic shock from something as simple as aspirin. What happened to the Hippocratic Oath of “above all, do no harm…”? …As in the 3rd law of Newtonian physics, “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction?” Allopathic medicine ignores this principle. How To Improve Sleep or Insomnia With Homeopathy EXAMPLE: Let’s take insomnia. We take a sleeping pill for that, so if you can’t sleep you take a pill that will knock you out. You sleep. This is the “action” of the pill, but the “re-action” of your body to that pill is wakefulness - as anybody who has taken a sleeping pill knows. In general “the next night” you have even more problems sleeping, you take one more pill - which won’t knock you off as hard as the 1st one - and in time the affect of the pill will get less and less and you will need stronger and stronger pills - or more and different kinds of pills. …This is the approach to sleeplessness coming from an Allopathic point of view… they are trying to set forth an action and trying to ignore the equal and opposite reaction. Over a lengthy period of time, you will definitely get increased sleeplessness. The homeopathic approach to the -same symptom- using the earlier “like cures like” - gives a remedy to increase the symptom - a remedy that in a sleepy person would create sleeplessness. Let me explain, by working with the “Law of Similars” the Ultrahomeopath uses the principle of equal and opposite reaction to bring healing. Giving the patient the correct remedy causes sleeplessness - which is an action. The system meets this with an equal and opposite reaction - which is sleepiness. Together - both reactions harmonize into a healing reaction. Ultrahomeopathy is a reactive medicine, one that places the healing impact on the equal and opposite reaction rather than an active medicine, such as Allopathy, that places the forces of cure on the first medicine action, and calls the equally potent reaction, “a side effect.” Can Coffee Improve Sleep? EXAMPLE: A potential remedy for sleeplessness in a good Ultrahomeopathy case-taking is “Coffea” - or coffee in diluted and sucussed or potentized form. Do you understand these laws at play now? If not, please go back and reread this section until it “sinks in”. When you “get it” - then you’ll understand how powerful this is. There are other remedies used for sleeplessness, you have to use the correct remedy that fits the picture of a person on the physical, and emotional and mental level - at the same time. Some practitioners do not understand this principle, so they feel like, that homeopathic remedies can be used like allopathic drugs - which couldn’t be further from the truth. ie. The watered-down, garden-style variety of “health food store homeopathy” - with the thinking that “This remedy is for headache, this remedy is for trauma, this remedy is for colds, this remedy is for allergies.” We’ll have further articles in this area - but this point is key. Improperly used homeopathic remedies can be as damaging as Allopathic drugs. Don’t play games with this. Self-prescribing is sure to hurt you. Example: Take a health food store or beginner homeopath “combination” or “cocktail” of remedies for your asthma - and all 9 will work! 1 for you, the other 8 against you. Get it? At first it might seem “that it worked” as in Allopathy, and later you will have a bigger, future disease to pay… In Ultrahomeopathy, we look at what is different, what makes each person unique, so we can treat the patient with individual precision…. Allopathic medicine looks for what is the same between patients and then applies a uniform treatment to the disease. When I get a patient and they say they are experiencing depression, I always ask for more information - what else are they experiencing? They usually experience a multitude of -simultaneous- symptoms like indigestion, head ache, and some menopausal symptoms. All the symptoms should be considered by the Ultrahomeopathic physician and instead of giving one “canned” remedy for depression, asthma, or headache - we have to treat the whole person with only 1 remedy, of an available 10,000 - instead of guessing and giving a remedy. We treat the whole person. It is not easy but that is what Ultrahomeopathy is. It’s a process of intricate analysis that has hyper-precise results….And takes years of training to accomplish. EXAMPLE: Now think of a multi billion dollar pain killer industry, think of a head ache. IF you take a painkiller for a head ache, does that actually cure that head ache? Of course not. It merely separates you from the sensation of pain. That’s all. It’s not even addressing the cause. Ultrahomeopathy is the only form of medicine that can improve the genetics of future generations. There is research that shows that 3 generations treated in a row with Ultrahomeopathy will totally erase normal childhood diseases at the genetic level. Ultrahomeopathy deals with anything, from a mild ear ache, to a crisis, from infertility to degenerative disease, including cancer. Most importantly — without suppressing your disease. (Suppression guarantees larger future disease - it is unfortunately the favorite form of both Allopathic and certain Natural treatments in North America at this time. More on this in a future article. Sign up for this blog in the upper right hand corner - and Look for the article on “Health Suppression - How Current Treatments = guaranteed future, larger diseases - and increasingly weaker generations of kids”.) Ultrahomeopathy is the only form of medicine that can address disease at it’s deepest level - it’s cause. The name of the disease does not matter, because we treat the person with very unique individual symptomatology - and the treatment is done without suppression of the disease, instead, intra-cellular cause resolution. This is something I will explain later in a future article…Again - It is important to Sign up for this blog in the upper right hand corner - and Look for the article on “How Current Treatments = guaranteed future, larger diseases - and increasingly weaker generations of kids”. Now do you understand why the Royal Family and Billionaire Rock Stars insist exclusively on Ultrahomeopathy? Good enough for the British Royals? A Brief Introduction to Ultra Homeopathy! …Why those with money and informed opinions are Shunning North-American medicine? SUMMARY: The Truth About Homeopathy is that it worked amazing well in epidemics/pandemics that made history, it invented vaccination - and does it properly (unlike all the current autism-linked vaccine knockoffs/ripoffs - which for-profit break all the original rules as intended by homeopathy) - and if you really want to feel well, this is the highest form of medicine… Good enough for the British Royals? The Entrepreneurial Roller Coaster Ride

When you own your own business, you have your highs and you have yo... More

When you own your own business, you have your highs and you have your lows. And it seems like you rarely have any in-betweens. George said  … I never talked about this for years. I thought it was just me. Then I got up the nerve and mentioned it to my sister, who also owns businesses. She said she knew exactly what I was talking about! So that encouraged me to ask other business owners about it. So far, every single person I’ve ever talked to about this knows exactly what it means. You can see it on their face as soon as you bring it up. But it’s something I think a lot of entrepreneurs don’t talk about. Mary-Lynn added  … With Bigg Success, I’m experiencing business ownership for the first time. And I feel like I’m on a roller coaster. There are days where I feel exhilaration from the ride and there are days when I feel sheer terror and want to get off the ride. Entrepreneurial terror If you’ve never experienced it, count yourself lucky, but most people in business have. You can feel terrified at times even with a job. You may fear you’re going to lose yours when you see other people’s jobs getting cut. But it’s still different for business owners. George … I remember one of the guest speakers for my class who talked about the number of mouths he had to feed now. A lot of the most successful business owners I know take personal responsibility for their people. They don’t look at just putting bread on their table; they worry about their employees as well. That can keep you up at night! Inc. published an article (way back in February 1987) called Entrepreneurial Terror. A portion of it has been republished on Wachovia’s Small Business site. It was written by Wilson Harrell, a serial entrepreneur and author of For Entrepreneurs Only. He said: “… the ability to handle terror, and to live with it, is the single most important – and, yes, necessary – ingredient of entrepreneurial success.” This company doesn’t love misery He says that you shouldn’t share your lows with your friends and loved ones, because you’ll just pass the worry on to them. Unless they’re your partner in business. He adds that you should always share your highs, though. How highs turn to lows The way you spend your time and money when you’re on a high often has a lot to do with how low you go. Let’s look at two examples: Too busy for marketing When you’re so busy, you may even be running at capacity, and you know your business couldn’t crank out any more volume no matter how much you wanted to. So you slow down – or even stop – your marketing efforts. George …I’ve done this! It’s easy to do – there’s no time! But that insures the next down cycle because you’re not doing those things that you did to get to the up cycle. Being careless with money A lot of times cash flow is at its peak during an up cycle. That’s part of the reason you’re on an emotional high. So you make that major expenditure. Or you add to your overhead. The next thing you know you’re on a low because business and cash flow have slowed down and you have little or no cash reserves. You may not be able to avoid the highs and lows. What you can do is conduct business so that your lows are higher … and your highs are higher! It may not feel any different, but you know it is. You’re reaching ever higher levels of success! Now that’s bigg success! Change. A word that sparks fear in many people. We work to get to that comfortable spot, and we want to stay there. “Nothing is certain except death and taxes.” Ben Franklin We think he got it wrong, not in the message, but in the semantics. We think he should have explicitly included change as something that is certain, rather than making it implicit in his quote.   Will you lead or follow? Even when it’s change that we’re creating ourselves, it can be scary. But it’s especially frightening when it’s a surprise. For example, picture Jane telling her boss that she’s accepted a new position. She’s going to experience change. But isn’t that more comfortable than Jane’s boss telling her that her job is being eliminated? It’s better to be a leader of change than a follower. Who’s in control? However, you can’t always control change. What you can control all the time is how you choose to respond to it. You can also try to anticipate it. For example, as technology continues to develop, change is occurring more and more rapidly. Isn’t it safe to assume that this will continue? So you have a choice to make. You either develop the skills to anticipate change so you get ahead of it or you just respond to it, after the pain becomes too great to do anything else. Bigg action item – Separate the change into fads and trends There are fads and there are trends. Fads come and go, so don’t worry about them. Trends are long-term. Get on board with them. Divide a sheet into two columns – one called “Fads” and the other called “Trends”.  In your chosen career, think about the things affecting your industry. Now start putting those changes into the appropriate column. What will affect your future income? Something will – for good or for bad! Is it a short-term phenomenon? Or is it likely to continue? You can position yourself properly by seeing the change coming. What opportunities will be created? What skills will be important? Do you have them? Can you get them? Develop a plan for what you need to do to position yourself to take advantage of the trends. Where do I get this information? We’ll look at two examples. Search for the name of your industry followed by the word “association”. For example, “beauty salon association” yielded a half-dozen or so associations in Google. You can also subscribe to magazines for your industry, or just about any industry you’re interested in following. They’re often free, supported by the advertisers. Amazon has an excellent resource that lists magazines by industry. It’s an extensive list! So there are a number of ways to get the information you need so you can embrace change rather than begrudge it. Subscribe to The Bigg Success Show in iTunes.  Subscribe to the Bigg Success feed. OCD Help Part 2: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Self Help

Podcast Here (Clip from episode: K4535)This podcast is brought to you by the Foundation of Human Understanding: http://www.fhu.com Can people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder cure themselves of their behavior? In this free podcast, radio counselor Roy Masters explores the possibility of overcoming all the effects of OCD. This is Part 2 in a podcast series on "OCD Help." Part 1 can be found at http://roymasters.blogspot.com. Chris has been dealing with OCD for over 10 years. Roy explains that obsessive compulsive behavior and thoughts are usually preceded by depression and guilt. OCD, in effect, is a form of psychological projection. While some people project their guilt onto other people, those suffering from OCD project guilt onto an idea that can then be obsessed over. By getting resentfully tied up with this idea or repetitive action, the obsessive compulsive mind is distracted away from the pain that guilt causes their conscience. Would you like to discover true self help, and be free of your obsessive compulsive thoughts for good? Listen to this podcast! Quotes regarding obsessive compulsive behavior from Roy Masters’ books: “Even when you believe in the worst that is about to befall you-and you do so compulsively-you cannot make yourself disbelieve it. After all, you have become a creature who relies on proof, not faith, and all you can see is proof staring you in the face. Thanks to your misguided faith, you can believe only as the result of being deceived, so that even when you believe positively that all will be well, it's a lie, and you know it, but you have to cling to it.”- Beyond the Known “Whenever you think through a problem in the conventional, subjective way—by trying to analyze it and figure out a solution—that thinking process acts in the same way as did the temptation that caused your problem, first by upsetting you and then by conditioning you to be wrong. By thinking about your problems, you tighten their hold over you; you become a part of the very problem you are trying to solve. Unless you yearn to know what is right and to be objective, thinking becomes an escape that triggers irrational and compulsive behavior and a morbid feeling of hopelessness. The belief that thinking about your problems can solve them is the underlying principle behind many forms of compulsion. Only when you realize the truth about your problems, not when you think about them, will these compulsions be eliminated. All you ever accomplish by taking thought is to stir yourself up needlessly; you achieve nothing positive.”- How to Conquer Negative Emotions “Hypnosis affects your ordinary, conscious thinking, because your soul comes out of its compulsive experiences with all sorts of guilt and anxiety. Stained with sin, your soul now consciously repels truth, both in the spirit and in the thinking about it; it reaches back, beyond the hypnotic state, for the means to persuade other people to give you the delusion of reality you need if you are to preserve your prideful nature.”- Beyond the Known “The meditation exercise will never become a habit. By choosing to do this exercise each morning you choose rightly for that day. This choice frees you from compulsive patterned ideas and actions. Failure to do the exercise constitutes choosing the old ways again.”- How Your Mind Can Keep You Well “The soul, once quieted, stripped of its rationale, illicit desires, and compulsive mind-movement, comes face to face with the truth about its pride and weakness.”- How Your Mind Can Keep You Well LISTEN: ----- If you suffer deeply from the effects of stress, fear or pain, we recommend the Overcoming Stress, Fear, and Pain Pack . OCD Help Part 1: The Cause of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Podcast Here (Clip from episode: K4533)This podcast is brought to you by the Foundation of Human Understanding: http://www.fhu.com Do you suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder or any other compulsive behavior? Are you looking for a way to resolve the symptoms of OCD without the use of pharmaceutical drugs? Do you know what causes your compulsive thoughts and habits to repeat in an endless loop? In this free podcast episode, Chris has been suffering with severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, (also referred to as OCD) for the last ten years. He has an intense fear of getting blood or other bodily fluid on him that could lead him to being wrongly accused of rape or murder. Radio host Roy Masters shows how understanding the causes of OCD, is the key to overcoming its debilitating grip. The cause and prolonging of all OCD is resentment. Getting upset with an action or thought can often times cause your brain to repeat it. Every time the idea is introduced, a feeling of resentment is attached to it, causing an endless cycle. Eventually, many with this form of compulsive disorder give-in completely to the thought pattern as being true, no matter how absurd or illogical it is. This internal conflict can often lead to thoughts of suicide; as in Chris’s situation. If you want free help with your compulsive behavior, listen to “OCD Help Part 1” of this podcast. For a more in-depth conversation with Chris on the subject of obsessive compulsive disorder, hear “OCD Help Part 2.” Quotes regarding obsessive compulsive behavior from Roy Masters’ books : “The more you tremble with fear or resentment, the further you are from the source of good, and the more subject you are to the subtle intimidations and manipulations of the wicked.” - Adam and Eve Sindrome “We are compulsive because of the proclivity of our souls to cling desperately to whatever we have been tricked into believing. And that fact holds true as far as you care to take it – in religion, politics, medicine – from the false heights of 'spiritual' cures to the lowest perversions imaginable.”- Beyond the Known “I do not intend to dwell at length on the other forms of compulsive behavior, except to say that the hypnoidal state leads to all of them by virtue of the pain and fear it produces. The victim is always driven to remove his pain. Left to himself, he experiments; otherwise, still in his trance, he is led down the garden path to the permissible, tried, proven, and accepted forms of pleasure. His trance state deepens as those unhealthy practices debilitate him physically.”- Beyond the Known “You may use the activity of resentment to escape the guilt, as though the thing of beauty, or even God himself, had suckered you into believing a lie. Of course, by believing in your false innocence, you perpetuate the guilt that began when you first rejected truth in favor of illusion. You lock yourself in more tightly to the hypnotic cycle of identification, feeling ever more guilty for escaping (again) into a lie and then needing more lies to diminish your awareness of the new guilt. You are caught in a compulsive, hypnotic pattern of dying as though it were living.”- Adam and Eve Sindrome “If you learn to meditate with the proper attitude, you may spontaneously experience a falling away of nagging personal problems, release from habits and compulsions, freedom from neurotic fears, and a renewal of good health…”- How to Conquer Negative Emotions LISTEN: ----- If you suffer deeply from the effects of stress, fear or pain, we recommend the Overcoming Stress, Fear, and Pain Pack . Reject This Fear And Succeed

Reject This Fear And Succeed

Many people get mired in fear. There̵... More

Many people get mired in fear. There’s one fear, in particular, that seems to hold many people back. The root of this fear often stems from childhood. Do you remember being made fun of, not being included, or not being one of the cool kids? As adults, this fear is manifested by not asking for the sale, not reaching out to people, or just not going for what we want. You have to reject the fear of rejection to succeed bigg! Be confident. If you need a confidence boost, check out our blog on how to build confidence. When you’re comfortable in your own skin, you won’t flat out accept the rejection. You’ll keep trying – one more thing, then one more. That’s what you have to do to succeed bigg! Understand that success is a numbers game. You have to hear “No” a certain number of times to get to “Yes”. Ask any published author. Any successful salesperson. Job seekers. Actors and actresses. The list goes on and on. Come to see “No” as a positive – it means you’re one step closer to success! Don’t take rejection personally. The odds are VERY high that they’re NOT rejecting you personally. It’s the offer, the presentation, the design, the wording, their circumstances, or any of so many other variables we can’t begin to name them all. Try to find out why the rejection occurred. If you take it personally, you won’t look for the reason underlying the rejection. Then you get caught in a vicious circle – you’re more likely to get rejected again because you’re not learning anything from each rejection. You want to understand why it occurred, so you can answer this question: Is the reason for the rejection something you can control? Here’s the good news – you’ve learned something important either way! If “No” – move on! If “Yes” – try again after you’ve made the necessary changes. Recipes for Rejecting the Rejection Blues Even self-confident positive-thinkers who have mastered the fear of rejection can succumb to the blues when faced with rejection after rejection. We’re all only human! On the show, Mary-Lynn and George shared their recipes for rejecting the rejection blues. Mary-Lynn: Rejection emboldens me. I’m very competitive and I don’t like being told “no”. When it happens, I turn to some good rock and roll. There are a couple of songs I particularly like: Keep Pushin’ by REO Speedwagon and Foreigner’s I’m Gonna Win. George: I find it helpful to do something life affirming, like escaping to bigg water. I feel calm when I experience its massiveness. It makes anything I’m facing seem miniscule. If water isn’t an option, nature in any form can be helpful. I also like to go for drives in the country. If I can’t do anything else, Little River Band’s Cool Change makes me feel free. I start dreaming again. Then I’m ready to get back to work! How do you give yourself a lift when rejection is bringing you down? Leave us a Comment below! Our bigg quote today comes from Louis Ferdinand Celine. “I think all great innovations are built on rejections.” So don’t get bogged down in the pool of rejection when there’s an ocean of opportunity awaiting you. Next time, we’ll offer some interviewing tips for a first-time manager. Until then, here’s to your bigg success! The Negotiating Table

The Negotiating Table

We know a gentleman who’s bought and sold businesses for year... More

We know a gentleman who’s bought and sold businesses for years. He closes a deal about every ninety days. He said that every time he buys, he feels like he paid too much. Conversely, when he sells, he always feels that he didn’t get enough. Negotiating is a nerve-wracking process – whether it’s for a job, a car, a loan, or anything else! So today, we’ll serve up some delicious tips for negotiating your next deal. Think of it as a three-course meal – an appetizer, the main course, and dessert. There are two things to keep in mind before we get to our three courses. Know what you want. What are your taste buds craving? What’s your ideal deal? Have a clear picture of this before you start.        Ask for what you want. It may not be on the menu. Ask for it anyway. You never know – the chef might be able to whip it up for you! Appetizers You won’t get filled up at this stage, but you will get a taste of what’s to come. During this course, you’re feeling things out. What are they looking for from you? What might they offer? Will you be working together long-term if this deal is consummated? If so, focus on building the relationship. Look for win / win. And keep this in mind – if they like you, you may get a better deal. Try to determine how much leverage you have. Why do they want to do this deal? How badly do they want it? Do they have to do it? Who’s in a stronger position – you or them? Be careful not to put too much on the table during this course. For example, you’ll save things like your price and terms for the next course. Main course You may walk away before you get to this course. If you’re still interested, here’s a caveat. Negotiations often stall here. So if you like what you’re hearing, find ways to keep things moving along. If you get stuck on a point, set it aside and come back to it later. Maybe if you chew on something else, this will be more appetizing later. Don’t lose sight of the bigg picture because you’re trying so hard to win a point. You may get a morsel but lose the meat! You shouldn’t concede unless they do so as well. This sets the tone you want. For example, let’s say you’re negotiating your salary. Maybe they can’t quite pay you what you want, but they are willing to give you some additional time off. You may accept that trade-off. Dessert You may decide you don’t want dessert – you know you can’t come to terms. But assuming you decide to stay, you’re ready to negotiate all the details. That’s one reason this course can be the most nerve-wracking of all. Plus you’re getting closer to actually committing. You probably won’t feel fully satisfied at the end. Be happy if they’re equally unhappy! Ultimately, they may reject your offer or you may turn them down. In either case, what are your options? Keep them open so you have a back-up. What techniques do you use at the negotiating table?Share them with us by leaving a Comment below. Our bigg quote is by John F. Kennedy. We’re sure he had loftier ideas when he said this, but it’s still appropriate. “Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.” So, enter every negotiation knowing that, you don’t have to do it, but don’t be afraid to do it. In our next blog, we’ll answer a question from a member who wants to know if she should keep her job or buy a franchise. Hopefully by then, we’ll be recovered from this bigg meal! Until next time, here’s to your bigg success! Related post Should You Count On Your Counter-Offer  ShareThis Less

Get In Tune With Your Job

Get In Tune With Your Job

Today, we want to compare two great classic country songs – T... More

Today, we want to compare two great classic country songs – Take This Job and Shove It, made popular by the unforgettable Johnny Paycheck and On the Road Again by the great Willie Nelson. Shovin’ It A fun, yet angry song that most of us have sung a time or two in our careers. #1 – It’s just a job. He says, “Take this JOB …” It’s not a career or even a stepping-stone to another job. He’s not passionate about what he does; it’s just a paycheck (pun intended) accompanied by a miserable existence. #2 – He’s suffering for someone else. He says, “… my woman done left and took all the reasons I was working for.” He’s working at a job he hates to please someone else. It doesn’t work! #3 – Beware of imaginary traps. This isn’t a short-term gig. He’s been “working in this factory for nigh on fifteen years.” You can’t blame anyone else for your misery, especially for fifteen years! Yet how many people can cite a number of reasons to stay in a job they hate? Life is too short to be unhappy! #4 – He can’t stand his bosses. One’s a “dog”; the other’s a “fool”. It’s true that there are bad bosses in the world. However, have you ever met someone who NEVER has a good boss? Wouldn’t you think that somewhere along the way a good boss would come along? Lovin’ It A fun song that makes you feel free just by listening to it. #1 – He looks forward to work. He “just can’t wait to get on the road again.” When you love what you do, doin’ it just can’t come soon enough! #2 – He “makes music with [his] friends.” Have you ever been part of a team that clicked? You were so productive. Doesn’t it feel good? There’s something special about being part of an exceptional team. We all make music in our own way. #3 – He’s “going places that [he’s] never been.” Have you ever been around a group of people who inspired you to reach higher and higher? You want to spend as much time as you can with people like that. They’ll help you get to places that you’ve never been! #4 – He’s “seein’ things that [he] may never see again.” As you grow, you outgrow. You can look back with fond memories of where you used to be and how far you’ve come. So here are two overriding lessons to learn from these two great classics:  YOU and you ALONE are in control of your life. If you don’t believe that, you have a HUGE problem. It’s the single most destructive thought you can have. Shovin’ It is the result. When you realize that you’re in control, you’re Lovin’ It. Life is an adventure of your own creation. Shovin’ It dreams of living while Lovin’ It is living his dreams. One dreams of telling his boss to shove it. But he still hasn’t done it. Did you realize that? We didn’t until we prepared for this blog. The other just can’t wait to get back on the road again to do what he loves to do some more. He’s living his dreams every day! We’ve talked about 2 songs here, but there are others that inspire us in our lives. What song gets you in tune? Let us know by sharing a Comment below! Our bigg quote today is by C.S. Lewis: “We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.” You’re never at a dead-end because you can always do a u-turn and get back on the road again that leads to your bigg dreams. Next time, we’ll discuss a costly mistake that you should NOT make. Until then, here’s to your bigg success! Related posts Your Potential Power Regrets...Had A Few?
