We have 6 people in there, for nearly an hour! But don’t leave yet! It was great show! We tackle a LOAD of listener email. We smack EA accross the face a few times regarding their NFL deal. We dig into some fun movie stuff. And finally we talk a bit about Quakecon 05. Thanks to Sasa, Obsidian, Chris, Brian, Andrew, and ME!

The good people at Mindwalk have taken up a LOR podcast and re-broadcasted it with additions. Check out their show. It’s great!
PROGRAM NOTES: Firstly, Jody Paulson speaks of the Bush supporter whodesecrated a memorial in Crawford. A Seymore Herschedit by Kavi.org excerpted from Democracy Now. JohnLennon, Jello Biafra and Eminem inthe mix. A greatpiece by Paul Garcia featuring Bush and Jim Morrison. A Bill Burroughs / Jim Morrison classic, and finally arather biting podcast/audioblog from a fellow namedDave down in Brisbane Australia. Strong language used.. That said, if you enjoy Jody Paulsons fine work as Ido, please consider sending her a contribution. She produces these commentaries out of her own pocket, and times are very tough as all of you well know.

Unable to come up with a proper topic for this week’s show, I asked everyone to motivate me. Brandy sent a file to say how she gets motivated. I also play vintage motivationals from Padyo, Lilith, Maz, Krull, wuMMle and Peace & Iyatoni.

For being thrown together at the last minute, this one was a heck of a lot of fun!

Richard G. Scott, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

General Conference, April 2004

“Despite pockets of evil, the world overall is majestically beautiful, filled with many good and sincere people. God has provided a way to live in this world and not be contaminated by the degrading pressures evil agents spread throughout it. You can live a virtuous, productive, righteous life by following the plan of protection created by your Father in Heaven: His plan of happiness. It is contained in the scriptures and in the inspired declarations of His prophets. He clothed your intelligence with spirit and made it possible for you to enjoy the wonder of a physical body. When you use that body in the way He has decreed, you will grow in strength and capacity, avoid transgression, and be abundantly blessed. When God, our Eternal Father, and His Beloved Son appeared to Joseph Smith in that sublime vision in the Sacred Grove, They began to place on earth again that plan of happiness and all required to sustain it. Part of that restoration included additional sacred scriptures to complement the treasured record of the Bible. These precious scriptures are contained in the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. Our Father knew of our day. He prepared the scriptures and provided continuing divine guidance to sustain us. That help will assure that you can live with peace and happiness amid increasing evil.”

Transcript – Transcript of Elder Scott's remarks.

Ellen holds court from Oracle Junction, Arizona as the lone contributor for tonight’s topic. Five years in the big brother house was just too long! She tells what she would need to take with her, talks about food, music, etc. We also attempt to tell a joke with three answers with the help of Ellen, Spike and Iyatoni which prompts a discussion about lesbians and changes the direction of the remainder of the show!

Fireside, November 1974

“Our individual success or failure in this life and in the life to come depends on whether or not we make up our minds to choose the good and eschew the evil. Let us face up to this fact and not deceive ourselves by pretending that we cannot distinguish between right and wrong. Every normal person instinctively knows good from evil. . . . Some people call this facility to judge between good and evil a conscience. Whatever its name, however, every person has one. The Lord confirmed this truth in this dispensation when he said in the Doctrine and Covenants, ‘The Spirit [of Christ] giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit. And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father.’”

Responding to the last day of questioning for Judge Roberts, Nancy Northup provides a reality check on why his views on reproductive rights matter so much.

“As the questioning of Judge Roberts ended today, here at the Center for Reproductive Rights, we needed no reminder of the critical role of the rule of law in people’s lives.

“Today, the Center filed a lawsuit in federal court right after Missouri’s governor signed a law that would force the only abortion clinic in southwest Missouri to immediately stop providing abortions. And, that’s because the law singles out abortion providers for unnecessary and onerous regulations that are not imposed on doctors performing comparable procedures.

“In the Missouri case we filed today, as in so many other of our cases, our clients turn to the courts for an unbiased application of the rule of law. Women’s lives depend on it. And, that is why the Center for Reproductive Rights has been calling for a fair and open nomination and confirmation process.”

You can listen to the clip here.

Audio: For some reason, most people don’t seriously consider forming a backup strategy until they have experienced a significant data loss. A this point they are willing to consider all sorts of methods to protect them from data loss, but are quite put out … http://free-backup.info

In this MeetYourAngels.com Podcast, I interview my neighbor, Nicole, who believes in Angels and she tells her story about how she has learned to communicate with them. She has read many books about Angels, but she most especially liked the “Angelspeake” books by Trudy Griswold and Barbara Mark. Nicole has also learned how to use the Angel Oracle Cards and uses them as a tool to help sort things out that are going on in her life. ‘Anyone can use them…all you need is to remove your fear.’ Nicole then discusses how technology in the Operating Room is creating miracles for people with Parkinson’s Disease and how she sees the hand of the Angels in helping people live happier, healthier lives… “We see miracles happen all the time in the O.R. (Operating Room)!” Listen to this fascinating interview Now!

BYU Devotional, March 2002

“The Book of Mormon is one of the greatest sources of spiritual power given to men and women on earth to guide us on our quest for eternal life. We have a challenge with our neighbors, family, and friends to help them overcome misinformation, prejudice, doubts, misunderstandings, rumors, falsehoods, and incorrect traditions that keep many from reading or understanding the Book of Mormon. Most people in the world and many in the Church do not realize that the Book of Mormon will help a person get nearer to God ‘than by any other book.’ It will help us obey the laws and ordinances of His gospel. It shows us how, through grace, we can be saved in His kingdom, ‘after all we can do,’ and helps us endure to the end.”

“From Joseph Smith, one unlearned and untrained in theology, more printed pages of scripture have come down to us than from any other mortal—in fact, as President Holland has pointed out, more than the combined pages, as available at present, from Moses, Paul, Luke, and Mormon. But it is not only a matter of impressive quantity, it is also a qualitative matter, since dazzling doctrines came through the Prophet, including key doctrines previously lost from the face of the earth, a loss that caused people to ‘stumble exceedingly.’ Plain and precious things, because of faulty transmission, were kept back or taken away, and thus do not appear in our treasured Holy Bible. What came through Joseph Smith was beyond Joseph Smith, and it stretched him!”

Robert D. Hales, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

General Conference, April 2003

“My brothers and sisters, however dark conditions may seem in this world today, whatever the storms we are facing personally, in our homes and our families, this joy can be ours now. Sometimes we don’t understand death, illness, mental and physical disabilities, personal tragedies, war, and other conflict. Some of these are a necessary part of our mortal probation. Others, as Enoch foresaw, are part of the preparation for the Savior’s Second Coming, when ‘the heavens shall be darkened, and a veil of darkness shall cover the earth; and the heavens shall shake, and also the earth; and great tribulations shall be among the children of men, but,’ said the Lord, ‘my people will I preserve.’ And when Enoch saw all these things, he ‘received a fulness of joy.’”

Transcript – Transcript of Elder Hales' remarks.

This was my first podcast, a walk-about in Rudyard Kiplings’ village Rottingdean in Sussex on a hot summers day last year. Kipling was the author of the Jungle Book and many other stories.

Becoming September 11 2005 by Robert G Parent This is a 23 minute show. the clips that I have for you I recorded last week and have not had a chance to put them into a show until today. What I talk about is two possibly reasons of why we have severe storms. the clips I recorded are from a newsletter I subscribe called Earth Changes TV. You can head over to their website by clicking the link: http://www.earthchangestv.com/ The other short clip is from Whitley Strieber’s September 3, 2005 “Dreamland” show: http://www.unknowncountry.com/dreamland/ The song today is “The Shepherd and The Chauffeur” by A Northern Chorus at http://www.sonicunyon.com/ This podcast is made possible by the people over at http://www.audioblog.com MP3 File
