This is a draft of one of three songs I wrote for Mala, who befriended me at the Garden Theater Festival where I was festival photographer (1975). The recording was made a few nights ago as a teaching tool for band mates.

It was the GTF experience where we met that contributed to writing this song, and wanting to ground an artists resource resource center named Creativity Cafe to build on the success of Warren Christenson’s festival of the arts.

Once again, the citizens of UK Nova and the citizens of Simply Streisand join forces to create radio magic in this discussion of famous artists who use their position of fame to voice their personal opinions to the masses. How does this play in to the political process? Is it fair? Is it a misuse of power? Does it affect how you view their performance?

Voicing their own private citizen opinions are Brandy, Chris, Livia, Ellen, Spike, Moderator Michael and author and Streisand fan Allison Waldman. Steve reads a note from Karim in Canada expressing his opinions on artists and politics. Discussions include references, speeches and music from Barbra Streisand, The Dixie Chicks and Pink.

There are still a couple of technical glitches! A musical file and a speech file overlap to create a few moments of difficulty. And apologies to Ellen for leaving my mic open as she is talking seriously and I am simultaneously correcting Nick and giving him a “time out” for saying naughty words! Where DO these kids pick these things up?

Included is yet another hard hitting interview from Steve with his favorite artist and best friend, Barbra Streisand.

By the grace of the Himalayan Masters, I am able to concentrate more and more on my writing. Here is a Hindi song I wrote couple days ago. I guess it shows the feeling of wanting to break away, to dream and to fly far away to the realm of serenity.

The melody starts with E minor (for which I’ve developed a sudden liking). Nikhil suggested a neat reverb effect, which I have used by using Cakewalk (sound editing software). Please ignore minor glitches in the recording. Hope you mates enjoy the song. I dedicate this song to the spirit of my beloved Himalayan hills.

You can live a virtuous, productive, righteous life by following the plan of protection created by your Father in Heaven: His plan of happiness. It is contained in the scriptures and in the inspired declarations of His prophets. He clothed your intelligence with spirit and made it possible for you to enjoy the wonder of a physical body. When you use that body in the way He has decreed, you will grow in strength and capacity, avoid transgression, and be abundantly blessed. When God, our Eternal Father, and His Beloved Son appeared to Joseph Smith in that sublime vision in the Sacred Grove, They began to place on earth again that plan of happiness and all required to sustain it.
