When Jean Larroux and Curt Moore surveyed the damage on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, instead of leaving after their relief effort, they started a church in the desolation. Lagniappe Church is still there. Their goal? Nothing short of participation in the restoration of creation through the declaration and demonstration of the love of God. Now, after Hurricane Gustav, in addition to rebuilding, Lagniappe is serving as a Red Cross shelter.
