This episode is all about the Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra by Jean Francaix written in 1975. Dietmar is a good friend from a couple of years ago when he came to sub in my section in Tenerife. He’s a great guy and I hope you enjoy his insights into the music by Francaix. This is not a well known concerto for our instrument but after having spent time interviewing Dietmar and studying the score I realize that this is a wonderful piece that should be performed more often.
