ABIGAIL WASHBURN and the SPARROW QUARTET is a gathering of banjo player/vocalist Abigail Washburn, our WoodSongs friend Ben Sollee on cello, fiddler Casey Driessen, and banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck. They explore a mixture of old-time, folk, and bluegrass numbers, as well as intriguing original songs. Abigail’s solo work balances her affinity for Chinese culture with a love of traditional American music. It was Abigail that arranged the small group of good friends and bluegrass pros for a mini-tour of China, when the Sparrow Quartet was born.
