As part of the Chicago Calling Festival, I was fortunate enough to perform a concert with Chicago’s legendary jazz saxophonisst, Fred Anderson, reedist Mars Williams, the incomparable Jim Baker, and the amazing bass player Josh Abrams. The concert was intended to be an internet2 facilitated collaboration between artists and musicians of University of California San Diego; Stanford University; and University of Alaska at Fairbanks. However, technical difficulties arose and the only external input that Chicago musicians received were some loud feedback hums and squeals.
