Jack Olmsted, Seattle PI Video Blogging 206, talks with Theo Chocolate’s company blogger Kiki Kane. Kiki Kane has a background in photography and digital media (video). An alumna of the San Francisco Art Institute (http://www.sfai.edu), she has refined her classical photographer’s sensibility into a tool for exploring LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lohas)) marketing in new and innovative ways. Kiki has been living la vida LOHAS since 2001 when the dot com bust found her applying for a design job at Whole Foods Market, which flourished into six years of exploring the natural foods market from the inside. Now a happily busy Theonista at Theo Chocolate, she divides her time between various design and marketing projects, including web site development and maintaining the company blog, Theonistas Unite!(http://www.theonistasunite.com) Kiki loves the fast pace and multi-directional focus of working in a small tight-knit company, and being a taste tester for all the new products. Theo Chocolate is one of the only bean-to-bar manufacture of organic, Fair Trade Certified™ chocolate in the United States . The privately held company Seattle ’s Fremont District based company controls and executes the entire manufacturing process, from bean sourcing through to the final molding process, demonstrating their innovation, passion for chocolate and mission to serve consumers and the environment every step of the way.
