We have a tremendous privilege – the opportunity to live our lives walking side by side with YHWH. He enables us to do this by telling us the way we should walk – through the example His commandments and law. Thus the law and the commandments become a mirror or guide by which we can judge whether we are walking in a way that pleases our best friend. The New Covenant (or New Testament) promises that YHWH?s law will be in our minds and written on our hearts. In this way we shall naturally want to do those things that please YHWH.
