I have had the pleasure of working with Tom for over a year now. This podcast was recorded some time ago. Tom represents the best of what I hope to achieve when working with organizations. Reaching someone and changing their outlook on how they do their work and how they see themselves as a valuable asset within an organization. He grabbed on to the bits that we gave and created his own vision of what he wanted to learn and teach his co-workers. I think of him when I need to keep going in the never ending grind of a large agile roll out. I gave him a spark and he has given me a Life Line. Enjoy -bob payne

I spoke with Emily and Geoff at the end of the conference and we were all a bit tired. Emily performed in the Coding With The Stars stage at Agile 2008 and gave a great run for the gold. One especially interesting segment was the customer story testing segment. For this segment Geoff played the customer and wrote a story test in TextTest and then Emily and Michael Feathers made it pass. This appearance of the customer was well received by the audience and judges. Finally I get Geoff on a podcast. I recorded him last year but he will jump the queue with this one. Geoff works on a heuristic scheduling problem that is somewhat tricky to write acceptance and regression tests around. To solve this problem he did wrote his own test framework, TextTest. I hope you enjoy this power duo and I suspect we will see more of them in the agile space. -bob

What can I say about this secular messianic figure that is constantly challenging and stretching agile methods to suit his will. Must be the portland air. We talked about Naked Planning for quite a while. He has essentially taken many of the techniques from Lean Software Development and warped them to suit his particular organization. He has a penchant for experimenting with his team and with his mind and he shares the results of those experiments in this interview. Enjoy -bob payne

David Celimsky is one of the development powerhouses behind RSpec, one of the first frameworks for Ruby to implement the Behavior Driven Development process. BDD is an interesting process and I like the increased move toward using language that the "user" can understand when describing or systems in executable form. I can now put another face (not Dave Astels as I usually do) to RSpec David. David is great to talk to and I recommend accosting him at conferences to start up a conversation. Enjoy Bob Payne

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did recording it. Many more Agile 2007 recordings to come... Enjoy the new (slightly) intro and lead out. -bob payne

If you have not heard Pollyanna Pixton you are in for a treat. Not only does she have the best Cold War Super Hero name of all the agilists she is a great speaker. Enjoy this presentation that she gave to the Washington DC APLN chapter last year. This has been sitting on my hard drive for a long time and it needed to get out. Please do not be confused about the her reference to the Agile Conference it is a reference to last years conference. The Leadership Summit did sell out and you can hear some of the sessions that I recorded and released last year. I hope to get 2006 fully published by the time the Agile2007 conference comes around. -bob payne
