1. This trailer for 2012. So incredible that i wonder what's left for the movie.... 2. The genius marketing coup for "This is it" of releasing the documentary on Michael Jackson for only 2 weeks. Worldwide. So brilliant. Going to be a huge hit. probably bigger than most movies that stay on screen for 2 months. I suspect the movie business should go in that direction to maximize revenues and kill the piracy effect.
iPhone App developers, get famous before even beginning

Yesterday we announced the first pre-app store iPhone app contest. The response so far is amazing (coverage here TechCrunch, ReadWriteWeb and TheNextWeb ) and for some good reason: it is damn hard to get visibility on the app store. So we created with Appsfire the App star awards, with an uber jury (Michael Arrington, Robert Scoble, Louis Gray,..) and top backers like SFR/Vodafone and LeWeb. We believe this could change the way apps are introduced and marketed. Lots of developers already tease about their apps before it launches (we did that ourself). Beyond a symbolic prize (cash and ad space) participants will get great visibility and recognition. Of course that won't be enough. But that's a great way to start off before even beginning. Here we say it in music :) Pre-registration are open now. Submissions will start November 23rd. Results will be announced on stage at LeWeb conference in Paris. Appsfire is growing day after day as a strong download generator for apps. I am really...

Crunchgear is one of the biggest gadget blogs out there and i thought John Biggs was coming for some gadget/story scouting. No. He was coming for the book he's writing about the watch of French queen Marie Antoinette. Relation with Israel? The watch has a long history and is currently hosted here. In the following video John explains how and why. Expect soon an interesting book (to get on your Kindle of course) sorry for the sound quality.... Posted via email from MyBlog

I stopped everything i was doing (something quite important actually) to share this video i discovered on Facebook This is a piece of music that stroke me right away. It appears it is composed by a great musician i never heard of, a russian composer by the name of Nikolai Kapustin (how could i miss it so far...) It is something between Ravel, Art Tatum and Scriabin. Take 2 min to listen. Believe me you won't regret it It is purely A*M*A*Z*I*N*G Posted via email from MyBlog

I invite you to discover 3 videos of Yaron Herman [disclosure i create this wikipedia page a while ago], The israeli jazz pianist, the Israelis forgot to discover, who is gaining an amazing awareness and success abroad. Yaron is a great friend of mine, we must talk like every single week no matter where he is in the world. He never finishes to surprise me. His musical energy is unusual - i knew it before we became friends - and musicians like that too. He recently got a great review in AllAboutJazz, The "TechCrunch" of jazz where is answers tell a lot about the simplicity and sophisticated side of his personality. I invite you to discover 3 parts of a program that ran on national TV this week end in France. In the first he plays Message in the bottle (Sting), Toxic (Britney Spears) And Heart Shaped box (Nirvana). In the second a stunning variation on the famous theme of Beethoven's 5th and finally a gorgeous duo with a french rap singer Passi, i did not know but i think i will ...

The title of this post is inspired by the iPhone TV ad focused on the fact you can share anything from your iPhone. Indeed: You can share pictures, songs, contacts, videos, notes,...everything except one thing: apps. Apple has made impossible for user to easily share their iPhone apps with their peers although this is what is happening in real life (people love to tell what they download and use) Today we are happy to announce that AppsFire has been approved by Apple (took only 13 days in 1 go) and now present in the App Store (download it here). It is the very first app that allow users to share their iPhone apps with others with zero effort. And for the opportunity we have opened AppsFire to all (including to Windows users). AppsFire lists automatically your apps in a private area. And then you can decide what to share and who with in 1 click. Today ReadWriteWeb covered the new release and qualified our app of - quoting - must have. AppsFire lists automatically your apps in a private area. And then you can decide what to share and who with in 1 click. Today ReadWriteWeb covered the new release and qualified our app of - quoting - must have. This is a great achievement but we are far from the perfect experience. First we need to improve the way apps are indexed. To date our methodology is not good enough, but we re improving over time. Why isn't it right away perfect? Because Apple has made close to impossible the possibility to read what you have on your iPhone. But we'll get there. We know how. It just takes time. Second the experience is ok but not amazing. We are cooking some really cool stuff that will make people stick to the app and brings to users a compelling discovery experience. I can't disclose here all the small things we are preparing but there are a number of small details that are going to make a major difference very soon. Third getting to high numbers is not easy. right now we are experience a massive growth due to the novelty and coverage. But we need to work harder on getting to critical size. We think we know how to get there. But anyone who has dealt with an iPhone app knows how complicated this is. Conclusion: Appsfire is THE app to share apps. Right now we are very excited. But we keep our feet on the ground for much more to come. Now enjoy, share and discover great apps.</itunes:subtitle>

Now enjoy, share and discover great apps.</itunes:summary>

Appsfire.com (Yann and myself) hosted Monday the first edition of "iPhone and Pizzas" a private, small size, short meet up for Pizza iPhone lovers. More exactly people who love the iPhone enough to make some kind of business out of it, either as developer, user or investor. The iPhone community in israel is quite reduced yet, mainly because there are just not enough developers and the iPhone is not being sold yet (i am not referring to iPhone owners acquired abroad). The idea was to put together a group of 20 persons very savvy about the iPhone, around a great pizza (thanks you Appsfire and Apple) and see what the interaction between people in real life can produce. It was highly interesting (The pizza is a good fuel maybe) and we re definitely going to host more of those. We had people from Benchmark Capital, Gemini israel funds, Pudding Media, iPhone groups, key iPhone bloggers, dev of popular apps (yes there are a few in Israel), ....You can see below a short video (shot of cours...

It was also an opportunity to showcase our upcoming appsfire native iPhone app for sharing....apps..[covered btw yesterday in ReadWriteWeb in an awesome way] It's amazing to see the passion around this device. A passion i have never seen around any other consumer electronic device (the Wii would be the closest to that). Something Android will have a hard time beating. No matter how open/massive this is going to be. So we'll run more of those meetups. But don't search for a place to be invited. There are not. It is a private, invite only and small scale event and will remain that way. However if you are interested in the next events just shoot me an email on ouriel AT appsfire dot com and explain what you do and why you should attend this event.</itunes:subtitle>

We also released a new tool for iPhone developers and marketers/bloggers that will allow them to create smart iPhone apps links and getting real time stats on them: indeed Apple iTunes link are kind of ....long and not friendly for sharing. Soon we ll be introducing new tools for monetizing those links (but patience for now) The real big news is that i was able to test our upcoming native iPhone app, that will allow anyone in 2 clicks to share your iphone apps. The experience is really simple because it is totally integrated with the contact book. You can view a first video demo below. But the final version will have more features (once approved by Apple) With Appsfire, the Appstore becomes a little more social.
How do you find interesting iPhone apps to install, among 40k and growing ? Once you bought an iPhone and got familiar with the amazing iPhone software, it is highly likely that one of the first questions you ll ask yourself will be around which apps you want/should download from Apple AppStore. A natural way to solve this issue is by checking out the AppStore itseft and browse the most downloaded sections. But since Apple's iTunes merchandising is a black box, in addition to be a painful browsing environnement this is not enough. A second natural way to solve that issue is by asking your friends. This happens every single day. I have never met 2 guys that have an iPhone and that do not start discussing their apps. Apple has not solved the problem of Apps Discovery and distribution. And we believe the key is in adding a social layer to iTunes AppStore Enter AppsFire.com [btw this is the project i was teasing about under codename AF] this is why we created AppsFire.com a new service that will allow you to share easily your apps with your Friends and streamline what you already do in real life. We believe the way to solve discovery is by adding a social layer to your iPhone. There are about 40k iPhone apps. And the number is going to rise soon. No one has the time to browse them all. Appsfire is a shortcut to this problem. There might be other solutions. but we believe this one makes sense. A few months ago, i came out with this idea out of personnal frustration and because i was kept being asked about recommended apps. When i met Yann Lechelle, who is a first class iPhone application creator in France, i suggested we create the service. Today we are opening AppsFire in private beta for a few hundreds user. And if we bet right we should see an interesting viral phenomenon take place in the next days. AppsFire is a very simple application [only for mac now, PC coming soon, as well as native iPhone app] that is for now only available for mac and that will list your applications in a private web page. You then can decide which app you want to share, and then you decide how you want to share them (email, social network of widget). You contact then receive a list of Apps to be downloaded directly from the Appstore. For example here are my favorite web apps. What you see today is only a little part of what the service is aimed to become. But we had to start somewhere. If you want to track our activity here is our Twitter account. For further releases you can register here. If you have any suggestions, comments, please leave them on our Appsfire suggestion page.
There is a long thread of thoughts and discussion about fake users and brands on Twitter. Hard to avoid with the popularity growing. There also many suggestions to spot those ghosts. Common sense and observation is a good start. But if you don't have time and want to go threw the learning curve of spotting real users from fake users, try Topify.com (new site coming very very soon) Topify replaces traditional email alert when you have a new follower and will bring you all the necessary information for you to judge who the user is. Most of our users in private beta are telling us that the first benefit is to spot spammers and fake users and avoid following them back. I believe this is a good start to find out about a Ghost: say the way the bio or the last 5 twits are written or even better the ratio Following/Followers. If you want to try it give a jump here (100 invitations). We have already a few thousands users in private beta and requests keep coming. The satisfaction rate is high...

Great little movie made by famous french actors (Elie chouraqui, Yvan Attal) and personalities (Marek Halter) to help people be aware of the case of the poor Guilad Shalit, treated in unacceptable conditions (for example NPOs and humanitarian organizations like the red cross are not allowed to visit) by the Hamas (for those who did not know Guilad is also french).
Dave McClure on pitching VCs: how to give them a hard on

And not a hard one. Dave is brilliant funny guy. His presentations are always full of smart and provocative references using street language to explain complex business situations (he s also one of the first employees of Paypal and successful investor - including slideshare). I am always asked to give tips on how to pitch VCs. I would strongly recommend the read of those slides Dave created. One tip though: avoid this language in your actual VC presentation View more presentations from Dave Mcclure.

Discovering Esperanza Spalding

I am probably late in the race but i just discovered the highly talented jazz musician Esperanza Spalding. She's only 23 and plays double bass. Quite unusual. But she also has a great voice too: If Stevie was a girl this is what he would have been. I am not a bass fan, i always skip the bass sections in a jazz tune because i can't really "read" them. But here the combination is interesting. The same musician leads the two main layers of the song: the bottom layer (the bass) and the top layer (the voice). And it works well. I let you discover a great song below and strongly recommend her last album Technorati Tags: jazz esperanza spalding

Would Eric Schmidt announce buying Twitter on TV?

TechCrunch notes that Eric Schmidt said on TV that he's unlikely to buy twitter (go to min 8'00 on the below video)...Actually unlikely to buy nothing in the short term and because the prices are too high. Let's decode. Schmidt is in one of the most popular TV show: he would certainly not declare anything about acquisition there, specially if it is going to happen soon. Whatever the reason. Note also that he does not mention Google is not interested. "Unlikely" means, this is an option. Then another surprising declaration "prices are too high". We are precisely in a period where prices are going to be as cheap as can, and acquisitions are going to be accelerated because the darwinian process is doing his job in the startup jungle. I already said it. Google will buy Twitter. This acquisition makes total sense. I would even say it is necessary The way i understand Eric Schmidt declarations: "We want to buy Twitter but it's too expensive for now, We are still negotiating" Technorati Ta...

It all started with a blog post on email as a command system for web apps. Arik Framovitch liked the post and created Topify a simple web app that enables Twitter users to deal in a smarter way with the flow of email notifications coming in their inbox. Arik then offered me to help him develop this product. We started teasing around and we have opened today the first batch of invitations to users. Topify vision is bigger, but for now it enables you to receive a smart notification from the user requesting to follow you so you can know who is that person. We provide you with enough information to decide whether you want to follow him or not (bio, number of followers/following, date he joined the service, his last message...). Once you have decided this is a person to follow, instead of sending you to twitter to see his page and then follow him, you only have to reply to this email and send it. Then when you'll receive direct messages on your mail box, you ll be able to reply directly ...

Maybe they will do it. This will be a great news for all, because this is the way it should be. Topify has received tremendous welcome from day 1 (read for example the great review by TheNextWeb WeboLobby and Jay Meydad). TechCrunch noticed (update: Tim Oreilly also) a different service and claims it is a copy. I am not sure we can say that although their domain is only a couple of days old and their screencast looks very very much like the one i produced. But who cares, This is what you call Instant competition on the internet.
Apple definitely hit something big with the AppStore generating millions of dollars of sales. Its revenue sharing is also fair to the developpers. But when you look at it closely you understand that there are a few major flaws in the system that make the AppStore business unfriendly. Like any sales channel, there are a few simple things on which you need visibility to manage successfully your business as a product manufacturer. The most important one is the relation with the end customer. I remember having started my career in big FMCG firms (Reckitt, Danone), manufacturers had to deal with retailers in order to get some field feedback beyond pure sales number. Retailers eventually control all the key parameters for sales, even if by way of negotiation manufacturers can influence this or that: listing, pricing policy, merchanding, promotional campaigns and other things...Eventually the manufacturer has to take the retailer word for granted, and of course this is not enough. Retailers eventually control all the key parameters for sales, even if by way of negotiation manufacturers can influence this or that: listing, pricing policy, merchanding, promotional campaigns and other things...Eventually the manufacturer has to take the retailer word for granted, and of course this is not enough. Since the retailer claims he owns the customer, he also owns the intelligence around him and rarely share it. Of course Manufacturers do not stop here and contract with 3rd party companies that can provide better intelligence: Nielsen is one of those companies able to give you a better point of sales snapshot on pricing, merchandising and even competition but those are based on samples. With the Appstore things are very similar maybe a little worse. Once your app has been approved there is very little you can actually do to control how your business will go. All you have to do, is pray that things go well and if you are good in online promotion you can drive better sales to the Appstore. But you'll do it blindly. For example you do not have any form of control on the merchandising of your app, meaning how it is displayed in the Store vs other Apps. For example how can i get on the home page, are there internal mechanisms that help me do that? you do not have any form of promotion mechanism if you want to do a try and buy, or offer your app for free or for a demo. For example many app creators sent me generic apple vouchers to buy their app to try it, but i could have bought anything i wanted you do not have ANY information on the customer buying your app unless you ask him to register once he installed your app. Apple won t share the iTunes profile you do not have any form of virtual advertising to promote yourself in iTunes explaining the large numbers of online app directory. You can if you want embed a 3rd party analytics system (like Pinch Media) to understand how your app is used but this is not enough you do not have any form of analytics or dashboard with the activity around your app (except download and sales), For eg: how many users visited my page, how much time they spend on it. Did they buy the app on the computer appstore or on the mobile appstore? you do not have a test platform to really measure the pricing elasticity, except by doing it manually, day after day In other words, the Appstore is a point of sales on which you have rather little way to understand what's really happening and influence really your performance. You have to rely on outbound maketing activities. A very small % of the apps are really making big money. most apps dont deserve to make a lot but i am sure many would do much better if the app store what not a black box and if it was a little more "open" and feature rich. It could really become a great efficient market place. But, beyond all appearances, it is not. Are you an iphone app creator? do you agree? do you have more comments or suggestions to make to apple? update: Fred Wilson in the comments and on his blog is pointing us to a great presentation by pinch media, that only some good analytics tool could lead to. I recommend you read it below iPhone AppStore Secrets - Pinch Media View more presentations from pinchmedia. (tags: pinch media) Technorati Tags: apple itunes iphone appstore</itunes:subtitle>

I stumbled upon Foxtab a few days ago, and this has become one of my favourite Firefox Plugins. You can see a screencast of what it does below: it helps you navigate through your tabs in a convenient and gorgeous way. It will remind you of the cool experience of Cooliris for pictures but also of the Vista Aero app browsing. Screencasts and videos online I read somewhere that Firefox 3.1 should come with something similar. But i doubt this will be as nice. Now the cool part is that this plugin is just in very early alpha and more is coming soon. The even better part is that it is made here in Israel and i am proud to see that we are here able to such a great level of execution. The founder told me more and better is coming up soon.
Beyond being a dear friend, Yaron Herman is probably one of the best jazz pianist of the new generation. He won last year the prestigious Victoire du Jazz Award and his agenda his full up until next year playing in the best jazz festivals in the world. His last album "A time for everything" was a real hit. His new album in trio will be released on march 9 and is called Muse. This album is an interesting turning point for Yaron. He could have gone onto the path of the previous album and work the "easy" way to pick major popular hits and turn them into jazz tunes. But on this disc, except one tune by Bjork (Isobel, you can listen on Yaron's site), the rest of the selection is not obvious. But the end result is simply amazing. You'll find for example Con Alma , a jazz tune that i never liked, but that is really beautifully rendered. What i like about this new album is that i could finally listen Yaron playing with his own personal voice, taking a step ahead from his key influencers like Keith Jarrett. There is also an Israeli, popular/folkoric tune called Lamidbar (one version here), composed by the great Sacha Argov. You can listen to it below. You'll understand how Yaron and his trio are able to build from a simple little melody a deep groovy energetic improvisation. Lamidbar - Yaron Herman by ourielohayon If you like What you listen Yaron will be playing in Paris at the prestigious Theatre des champs elysees on March 9th Later this week i ll organize a little contest to win a ticket for the concert as well as 2 CDs.
One thing i kept from the Israeli movie "Waltz with Bashir" is one of the classical music piece used during and at the end of the movie. The usage of classical music is nothing really new: coppolla in Apocalypse now, Oliver Stone in Platoon,...But in that movie that is so personnal, traumatic and intimate they had to use some dark and sad music. When i went to amazon to buy the sound track, i could not find any track except the rock/modern music. For some reasons they did not include any of the classical music. Why? : the Bach piano concerto #5, the Chopin Waltz (referred to in the title) and the watlz i was looking for, which is for me the central part of the sound track as it reveals the darkest moment of the story (no disclosure here of course). I asked my Twitter friends then...but no one could help me I then ran a good old search in Google and stumbled upon an interview with Ari Folman (i recommend you read it) mentionning this piece of music: the Andantino from a piano Sonata ...

(here more information on that piece in Wikipedia) You can hear it below played by Rudolph Serkin. It does not sound like it but it is a waltz (3 beats), a dark and painful conflicted waltz where you can hear 2 delicate voices, interrupted by a fantasy-like minor movement coming back to the waltz and lead to silence. At the end of the movie they worked out the original in an electronic version with deep echo. Discover Rudolf Serkin! More than the chopin waltz, that i nearly found inappropriate for the movie, i think this one embeds better the spirit of the story. update: the music actually appears in the CD of the soundtrack. Called "Andante / Reflection" where only the beginning of the movement is played then transcribed for Trio (violin, cello, piano) Technorati Tags: movie waltzwithbashir classical waltz schubert</itunes:subtitle>

Yesterday at the World Economic Forum, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan decided to leave the stage of a debate with Shimon Peres to show his "disapprovement". The debate was about the peace process in Israel and the recent war against Hamas in Gaza. You will probably see the news in all major newspaper today presented as, i simplify, "Shimon Peres apologized to Recep Erdogan". What people will remember and what most media are covering is that: He left and that Shimon Peres apologized (translate Erdogan was right and Peres wrong).Right. Some context? of course not... Now stop, rewind. You can't understand this if you did not see the debate. I urge you to see the full video below. The argumentation of Erdogan was simply inadequate and wrong (and prior to him the same goes with former egyptian minsister Moussa) and President Peres, did just the right thing by reminding the real context in which Israel is operating. The argumentation of Erdogan was simply inadequate and wrong (and prior to him the same goes with former egyptian minsister Moussa) and President Peres, did just the right thing by reminding the real context in which Israel is operating. It is easy to say that civilians are killed, and that this is not good, that there is a humanitarian crisis in Gaza...But what about the context? Peres did a great job explaining (in the video it starts at minute 39, just drag the player) with passion the lack of options Israel has in front of a country lead by dictators hiding in Tunnels or in Syria. He's explaining a democracy is not a matter of 1-day election but of civilization, that Israeli totally retreated from Gaza and that even invested in some infrastructures (destroyed by Hamas), that since Israeli retreated missiles where shoot everyday and restrained for many years, that Hamas torture and kill his own people in daylight, that Hamas has a charter where they wrote back on white their mission is to kill every single jew (not israeli, jew). All those are facts. How do you make peace with that? What are your options? What would your country do with that? Erdogan presented the usual PR Bullshit we are used to hear everyday in the news or on the web: but the reality is where are the options? Where are the choices? This is why Peres told Erdogan, in his case he would have done the same thing. He reminded something that is not heard enough: Israel wants peace, Israel wants 2 countries, Israel wants Gaza to flourish (that's why we retreated from Gaza), Israel wants victory, not in War (like Hamas always love to claim) but in peace. Can you hear this message from the other side? Yes in part from Fatah and not from Hamas. Erdogan does not remember there is a difference between Palestinian and Hamas and that peace is not possible with the later, simply because they do not want it and created this situation. Peres speech was passionate and strong, unusual. I personnally regret he apologized. He was both right on the content and on the way he presented it for about 22 min (After nearly 40 minutes of anti-israeli speech from Erdogan and former egyptian minister moussa). This is why people applauded so strong at the end. I can understand maybe that for diplomatic reasons Peres apologized, but certainly not for what he said, more probably for the context and the way it ended (which you won't read anywhere in the news). Erdogan left, because he was out of argument (you can feel that in the way he talks and his nervous attitude), not only because he was out of time. I also regret the debate stopped there, because i was curious to hear the answers from Erdogan. Turkey has recently taken strong positions against Israel surprisingly after having been a moderate and efficient intermediary in the peace process. Why this sudden change? I think you have to look at what happens inside Turkey with the slow but sure progression of Islamism (which is btw creating some issue with the EU integration). Erdogan has in my view a schizophrenic attitude to Israel: he wants to be their friend, but on the other side can't show support towards his own people and public opinion. Conclusion: the media say "Erdogan left, Shimon Peres Apologized". I say "Erdogan could not hold a debate, Peres defended a brave and honest position". Again do not stop at what you read in the media and see this full video. What do you say? Technorati Tags: WEF worldeconomicforum israel turkey erdogan peres gaza hamas war</itunes:subtitle>

I am a big Pizza fan. I have spent my youth in the best region in the world for Pizzas: Nice in the south of France. Since i have been chasing that standards all over the world. Very hard to find as good (but sometimes i do). Since i arrived in Israel i have been very very very very frustrated with Pizzas. Most people order here the disgusting Pizza Meter, Hut or Dominos. There are a few "boutiques" that until now have been good choices: il Pizzaiolo has been a point of reference and recently i discovered Iceberg in tel aviv Port. Time Out rates Tony Vespa as #1: so i went to checkout and don't loose your time. Not even #10 But the award goes, by far, to a Pizza restaurant that is just down my street, in Yehuda Hamakabi 40 in Tel aviv hold by 2 french guys that came in Israel a few years ago: il T eatro. Actually i am quite frustrated to discover it only now because it's been there for a while (in place of the mythical sandwhich place Theodor) and i never thought about going. I will...

Mozart Piano Sonata No12: Adagio

I recently saw a great movie on the recommandation of my friend Frederic: Vier Minuten (four minutes) which is about the musical education of this talented woman prisonner by this old single woman whose life has been dedicated to music. The movie starts with this stunning piece of music by Mozart. I don't like Mozart. I am not connecting to his music because i have not found yet the right "keys" to appreciate it. I find it either too easy or too predictable. Some will say this is the genius of Mozart. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Anyway for the first time i have head this piece of music: Piano Sonata No.12 in F Major KV 332 : II.Adagio which i am embedding below. It could have nearly been written by Beethoven (the young Beethoven). The simplicity and elegance of major/minor modulation is just amazing. hope you'll like it too

It could have nearly been written by Beethoven (the young Beethoven). The simplicity and elegance of major/minor modulation is just amazing. hope you'll like it too

<itunes:subtitle>I recently saw a great movie on the recommandation of my friend Frederic: Vier Minuten (four minutes) which is about the musical education of this talented woman prisonner by this old single woman whose life has been dedicated to music. The movie starts with this stunning piece of music by Mozart. I don't like Mozart. I am not connecting to his music because i have not found yet the right "keys" to appreciate it.
2 must see movies: Slumdog Millionnaire and Vicky Cristina Barcelona

I have seen a lot of movies but 2 are really striking and i strongly recommend you see them The Slumdog Millionaire is a breathtaking story about an indian winning the famous game "who wants to be a millionaire". The story and movie direction is so strong that it makes you totally forget that there is no one single famous actor in this movie. Danny Boyle (Trainspotting and others) has just made his best movie ever. trailer below Vicky Cristina Barcelona, that woody allen could have called "Lovers". Probably one of his best movies. I loved to see again Barcelona where i used to live for 3 years (i could not recognize it in the move...). Javier Bardem, one of my favourite actors confirms his talent in the role of the irresistible latin lover surrounded by 3 beautiful women whose life he s going to shake a little...Woody Allen gets better year after year. Will he ever stop? Trailer below

I just discovered a poll on twitter that calls for action. Support Israel vs Support Palestine. I stupidly voted without thinking. Then i realized this poll does not make sense. I think i am speaking for many Israelis. Israel wants peace. Israel wants Palestine to stand by Its frontiers. The problem is not Israel vs Palestine. This poll is for those who like to demonstrate in the streets of Paris or London, shouting the obvious but afraid to look at the reality in front. This war like i said is not against Palestinians: it is against Hamas, a terrorist organization that only aims at killing civilians a using civilians as human shields. The right poll should be Support Israel vs Support Hamas. The simplistic vision that Israel does not want a Palestinian country is just merely wrong. Like i asked before i just would like to know how many personns realize or intentionally support Hamas (meaning also Iran fundamentalism) by showing support to Palestine. I am convinced that common sense...

The soldiers of the web

There are 2 wars currently being lead by Israel. One on the field in Gaza that will hopefully end up soon as tentatives for ceasire fire (vain so far) will convert. Another is in the air, in the communication field. And this time, probably for the first time in the history of Israel, i observe a significant change. Not only it is easier than ever to participate in the different activities to support your side or launch a debate thanks to the different web platforms, but for the first time Israel authorities have taken a step forward and are investing energy (not enough in my mind) to communicate better on blogs, twitter, youtube, facebook... This is one of the reasons many of us feel it is important to participate even more. Initiatives like HelpUsWin or @QassamCount (covered yesterday by Fox News btw, just after my own interview) are becoming channels that agregate thousands of users to participate and increase the exposure to virtually millions of "friends" or better said connecti...

This is one of the reasons many of us feel it is important to participate even more. Initiatives like HelpUsWin or @QassamCount (covered yesterday by Fox News btw, just after my own interview) are becoming channels that agregate thousands of users to participate and increase the exposure to virtually millions of "friends" or better said connections. Today the very popular french newspaper, LeMonde is dedicating a a note to that war of the web, where users become themselves soldiers (thanks for mentionning me btw). This is a war because on the other side you find 3 categories of fight people that are supporting blindly hamas thinking they support palestinians without enough open mindness and do not really understand the reality we live here. Make no mistake the palestinian people deserve peace and a country. But supporting palestinian and supporting hamas are 2 different things. One is supporting poor civilians, the other is supporting a terrorist organization. people that are true supporters of hamas by conviction of fundamentalism. There are MANY like those: sites of hate, sites of boycott, groups of hate, call to murder and jihad Cyber Terrorists: those hacking sites just for the sake of hacking. Ynet fell (picture top left), Bank Discount fell, a hospital website in Hadera fell... Personnally i feel that i can contribute to this war by expressing my ideas, and bringing them to as much exposure as i can: a rating in youtube, a comment in facebook, a post on twitter, a note on friendfeed, a note on this blog, and many other simple tools... Very often i open a debate or participate in one. My purpose is not to convince but the raise the awareness of the situation and i believe that if all israelis and jews around the world were acting like this, the picture in the media landscape would really be different. And if only one message should be shouted out there here it is. Please read it twice This war is not against Palestinians, but against fundamentalists/fascists of the Hamas. Each computer is a weapon on both sides. Internet is the most efficient media out there. I get most of my news on the web first before it even comes to TV. Use it. Anyone can do it. Winning a war on the communication is today at least as important as on the field. It supports better diplomatic efforts, in order to reach a truce and hopefully one day peace (opposite to hamas' tentative to destroy, kill and exterminate). This war is continuous. It is more visible in times of war because all media wake up and suddenly everyone feel compelled to take side. But true support happens continuously (special message to those demonstrating their "support" to hamas only when it is urgent), regularly. It eventually pays out. I hope our government will understand that as well. One day hopefully, the internet will become a major driver to peace by improving sharing and dialog with palestinians that under constant inner propaganda of their fundamentalist leaders. They also dream of a normal life, of having fun, and of a better life they deserve. update: a footage from Foxnews on the above phenomenon Technorati Tags: israel gaza web internet war</itunes:subtitle>

A good VC pitch

The eternal question: how to best present to a VC? I found this presentation by Canaan Partners (Dan Ciporin ex-Lgilab is now Venture Partner there) which lays out a few interesting points. If you are an entrepreneur read it. Canaan Entrepreneur Pitchbook View SlideShare presentation or Upload your own. (tags: fellows program innovation) For me a good pitch or in general a good presentation is comparable to a great piece of music. You have to prepare for long hours, train, repeat. Eventually you find the way you feel best presenting it. Just like in Jazz, the best part is not the tune, but the improvisation and the conversation with other musicians. A good pitch, is a pitch you have prepared so well that you are ready to forget about it and start composing on the go, depending on the person and the reaction you get in front of you. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare then forget. Then start.
