A documented chat between myself and two of my closest friends. This is from nearly a year ago. Many of the frustrations are the same, many of the points still valid, many of the false assumptions still present. This is a far cry from the truth. It’s a far cry from coherent. What it is is an audio snapshot of a time in our lives when nothing is certain, and everything is oppositional. Right before you accept the fact that you can’t burn this Earth down.

Second Interview I’ve conducted with Crispin Glover. This one following the viewing of the second film of his “It Trilogy, “It is Fine, Everything is Fine!” The screenplay was written, and the film stars the late Steven C. Stewart, who was afflicted with cerebral palsy. He wrote himself into somewhat of a fantasy where he indulges a hair fetish, graphic sex, and murder. An incredibly challenging film to watch, but one that is very rewarding because it presupposes that the audience is capable of dealing with complex issues and emotions.

The full audio from an interview I conducted with the legendary Z’EV at the Empty Bottle in Chicago on 4.19.07. His first appearance in the city in 21 years. We discussed many things including the artistry of the “break core” culture and the house movements, as well as the avant-garde in general and where those sentiments lie in the current creative landscape. A full article with the interview will soon be appearing in the May issue of Thirsty Media. Have the fun.

Way too long ago, I chatted with Mark Hosler of the band Negativland. We discussed their latest show: It’s All in Your Head, which I made it out to see last October in Chicago, as well as the general state of things. I had a great time doing this interview, and it gives you lots to think about. From November 2006.

Last week I had the good fortune of attending a press showing of Crispin Glover’s film What Is It? followed by the opportunity to conduct a video interview with him for Thirsty Media. This was to be the culmination of a three year mini-obsession for me. After seeing the trailer for the film, it sprang right to the top of my list of things I had to absolutely see regardless of the circumstances. I did more research into the past of Crispin Glover. I ordered his album, found a signed copy of his book “Oak Mott” in New York (that copy is now double-signed), and even snagged a supper bootlegged copy of his film “Rubin and Ed.” The official article will be online come December 1st, but in the meantime, here is the audio from the exchange complete and unedited, along with a trailer for the film. What Is It? is the first of a trilogy. He has finished production of the second film, “It Is Fine, Everything Is Fine.” If you live in the Chicago area, I highly recommend getting your asses out t...

He is going to be doing an hour of reading from his books (which are great by the way), showing his film, giving a Q & A and also showing Werner Herzog’s, “Even Dwarfs Started Small.” These films are not going to be widely released, if at all. He only tours with them, so this is a very special opportunity. Highly Recommended!</itunes:subtitle>
