This version of the old Ben E. King classic is not for sale - it was not meant to be on the Billboard charts or even manufactured as a CD.....it's intended to be downloaded and shared by the Iranian people...to give voice to the sentiment that all people of the world stand together....the handwritten Farsi sign in the video translates to "we are one".
ROCKET is a great rock 'n roll band from the Silverlake district of Los Angeles. They've toured all over the country but gained national prominence as contestants on the wretched FOX TV show, "The Next Great American Band". To their credit, they didn't win! Critics say that "this all-girl group mixes 60's girl band innocence with 80's hair metal bravado." This song reminds me of what The Dead Boys would've sounded like if they were girls....

JONELL MOSSER is a dear friend and one of my all-time favorite singers. Too R&B for Country - too Country for Rock (at least in the minds of some A&R folks), she has carved a niche for herself on the cusp of mainstream success...a singer's singer, she's respected by musicians all over the world. I first heard Jonell when Townes Van Zandt hired her to record demos of his songs. In 1993, we were both in a band called The New Maroons along with Ringo Starr, Benmont Tench, Mark Goldenberg and, for a brief, shining moment, Merle Haggard. That's a whole 'nother story....... JONELL MOSSER vocals TOM BRITT guitar CRAIG KRAMPF percussion PRODUCED BY DON WAS Recorded and Mixed By KRISH SHARMA Assisted by LESLIE RICHTER At OCEANWAY STUDIOS, NASHVILLE, TN Video Shot by Brad Belanger Kip Kubin Edited By GEMMA CORFIELD WRITTEN BY JONELL MOSSER AND TOM BRITT ©2007 (ASCAP) Download iPod / PSP Video
