#417 - Redeeming the Time

God wants your life to be filled with peace and joy. He wants you to enjoy everyday living! Scripture tells us to redeem the time. That simply means you should not let the gift of time go to waste and be distracted, unfocused, unhappy, negative, or defeated; but make the most of each day. Things may not be perfect and you may have some obstacles, but each day lived is a day you can't get back. When you realize your time is limited, you don't respond to every critic. You don't waste your time trying to convince people to like you that are never going to like you. You accept the fact that not everyone is going to understand you. Not everyone is going to give you their approval. But that's okay. You just continue to run your race focused on God and not man. In 2nd Corinthians it says, "Don't squander one bit of the marvelous life God has given you." Notice, it says don't waste one tiny bit. Don't waste another second focused on the negative and what you don't have in life. Don't waste ...

Don't go another day with unforgiveness and bitterness in your heart. When you learn to see each day as a gift, you will live more intentional. You will realize when you spend your time; you are spending your life. You have a responsibility to redeem the time that God has given you. He's entrusted you. You can either invest it or you can waste it. If you run every step with purpose, accepting and appreciating the gift of today, then you are redeeming your time. You're not only going to enjoy your life, but God is going to increase you and promote you. You're going to overcome your obstacles, and you'll see your gifts and talents come out to the full!</itunes:subtitle>

We have many opportunities each day to worry and live in fear. From being worried about the economy, our health to our family and children, the list could go on! But did you know faith and fear having something in common? They both ask us to believe something is going to happen that we cannot see. Jesus said in Matthew 9:29, "Have with your faith expects". It's important to use your energy to believe because what we meditate on the most is what's going to take root. If you go around all day thinking about your fear, it can become a reality. But when you focus on faith and God's provision, your mind stays full of peace and you give God room to show Himself strong in your life. Faith moves the hand of God, not fear. God promises to meet all of our needs according to His glorious riches. Sometimes you may not see how it can happen, but don't use your energy to worry. Use your energy to believe.
God's plan for our lives isn't dependent on having to be perfect, never making a mistake or never taking a wrong turn. When you make a mistake, God isn't shaking His head saying, "I never dreamed he would do that. He ruined My plan." The scripture says God knows the end from the beginning. That means He knew every mistake we would ever make. Nothing that you've done or any mistakes that you have made or ever will make is a surprise to God. He already knew when we were going to turn left even when He said turn right. He knew when we were going to hang around someone even though He warned us they would be a bad influence. God knew every poor choice. The good news is He had already planned a way to get you back on His best path for your life. He has grace for every weakness and mercy for every failure. Failure is not final. Mistakes don't have to keep us from our destiny. God's plan can override every setback.
God's hand is outstretched toward us. That means there is supernatural power behind every believer. We don't have to go through life just depending on our own talent, our own ability and our own strength. God's hand will help us accomplish whatever seems impossible. God's hand can break any bondage we have in our lives: a bondage of addiction, a bondage of depression, a bondage of poverty, a bondage of sickness. All it takes is one mighty act of God's power. God's outstretched hand will help you accomplish dreams that you thought were impossible. His outstretched hand will cause you to get well even when the medical report says there is no way. The outstretched hand of God will help us to prosper even when the economy is down. His outstretched arm will bring supernatural opportunities even when it seems impossible.
Psalm 115 says, "The Lord your God will increase you more and more." Increase has always been on God's mind. His desire is that we would never get stuck at one level. Jesus said He came that we might have life to the full, in abundance, until it overflows. It says in Psalms, "Open your mouth wide and I will fill it." This means God is ready to fill you with overflowing blessings, increase and provision; but the question is what are you expecting? What type of container do you have ready to receive increase? It's time to get rid of the small containers because God has blessings and opportunities that are far beyond your imagination and expectations. God wants to take you places you've never even dreamed of, but your capacity to receive and your level of expectancy will either limit God or allow Him to work and do great things in your life.
David said in Psalm 109, "They will curse me, but God, You will bless me." You may have had a lot of unfair things happen in your past, but your past or even your heredity cannot stop you from God's destiny because God's blessing and calling over-rides any curse. When you understand who you are and what God has already done then no matter what someone else did, no matter how unfair it was, no matter how you were raised, you won't get bitter and live defeated because you realize that cannot stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny. You may not be able to choose where you were born or how you were raised, but you can choose to walk in God's blessing and fulfill your God-given purpose. You may have had parents that put you at a disadvantage but you didn't come from your mother; you came through your mother. You came from Almighty God. He gave you life.
Life is full of different seasons. There are growing seasons, where we're seeing increase and promotion and making all kinds of progress and then there are seasons of trials, difficulties and hardships where it seems as if we are taking a step backwards. It may seem so, but it's during the pruning seasons that God is positioning us for something greater. If we are going to become everything God has created to be, just as we receive the growing seasons in life, we have to accept the pruning seasons, as well. God will never take something away without putting you in a position to receive something new. What you think may be the worst thing that could have happened could turn out to be one of the best. When you're in a slow season and not seeing any growth and it seems as if things important in your life are being taken away, stay in faith; the disappointment and loss wasn't meant to work against you, but for you. If you will stay in faith, that season will come to an end and you will come into a new season of growth, opportunity and new friendships. You are being pruned for one reason: so you can bloom, so you can blossom, so you can spread your wings and be everything God has created you to be.</itunes:summary>

Programming your mind for victory is extremely important in your faith because you become what you believe. All through the Scripture, God has said so many great things about us. In Ephesians God says, "I have blessed you with every spiritual blessing." In Colossians, "I have made you worthy." In Psalms, "I have surrounded you with favor as a shield." God has already blessed you. He has already made you more than a conqueror. He has already given you a crown of favor. So often, we don't tap into what God has already said about us because we don't feel blessed or see how we are blessed with our natural eyes. Yet, by faith, we have to get into agreement with God and start acting like we're blessed, talking like we're blessed, walking like we're blessed and thinking like we're blessed. Even when you don't feel blessed, you have to believe and receive it by faith. It has to get deep down on the inside. But God, I know You have the ultimate say; and since You say I'm blessed, my report is I am blessed." You have to believe it before you'll ever see it.
Too many people go around negative and discouraged. They focus on their problems, what they can't do, and how they'll never accomplish their dreams. If we're not careful, that same spirit can rub off on us. God wants us to have a different kind of spirit, a spirit of faith. When everyone else is complaining and shrinking back in fear, you move forward in faith. Instead of talking defeat, you talk victory. When others are complaining, discouraged and overwhelmed by their problems, you are at peace and full of joy. You have a spring in your step because you know God is in complete control. Even when the giants in our lives look big, we have a different perspective; we know our God is bigger. It may look impossible, but we know God is able. Even when it seems all odds are against you, you have an unshakeable confidence deep in your spirit. You don't focus on the impossibilities; rather, your focus is on your God. When you are fully persuaded, no matter what someone tells you, no matter how impossible it looks, you know God is still on the throne. He would not put the promise in your heart unless He has every intention of bringing it to pass. You don't let a seed of unbelief and doubt take root in your heart and become permanent. Rather, you stay in a place of faith, digging in your heels. It may not be possible in the natural, but we serve a supernatural God.

You might have planned on having an average year, but God has already lined up an extraordinary year. It doesn't matter what has happened in the past or even this year, God still wants to show Himself strong and has a plan for your life. He not only wants to meet your needs, He wants to give you the desires of your heart and even the hidden dreams that no one knows about but you. You may not see how it can happen; but remember, God has a way. You might feel like your dreams are too big, a relationship is too far gone, or you're dealing with a sickness you think you have to live with the rest of your life. But Scripture says, "Is there anything too hard for God?" It's time to get a new vision for your life this year and put on a new attitude. God is all powerful and can turn any situation around. It doesn't matter what it looks like in the natural. He is a supernatural God.
You've been anointed to make it through difficult times. When God breathed His life into you, He breathed perseverance, determination, strength, courage and endurance. That means you have staying power; you can outlast every attack. God did not create us to give up when it gets hard. He didn't create us to get discouraged when we face obstacles. He made us more than conquerors. We have victory in our DNA. If you're going to fulfill your destiny and become all that God has created you to be, you have to have a made-up mind that no matter what comes against you, no matter how long it takes, no matter how many times you get knocked down, you are not going to stay down. Life may throw you some curves. There may have been some bumps, but every setback is a setup for a greater comeback.
We don't have to go through life guessing what we should do. We have the Spirit of the Most High God living on the inside of us. We have a Counselor, a Helper, an Advisor, a Researcher, and a Guide. Jesus said, "He that has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying." God speaks to us in a still small voice. It's a knowing, a prompting, a suggestion. It may not make sense in our minds, our emotions may be telling us otherwise, but deep down in our heart, we know it's the right thing what we're hearing. God is constantly transmitting. The question is do we have our receivers tuned? When we take the time to be quiet and listen to what God is trying to show us, we gain inside information.
What you've seen in the past is a tiny fraction of what God is going to do in the future. Scripture says, "I will come in the fullness of the blessing." That means to the highest degree, the greatest measure. Everyone of us as God's children have what scripture calls "the blessing". It's an empowerment, a divine enablement to accomplish our God-given dreams. But there is a level of blessing God is going to release in your life like nothing you've ever seen before. What you've seen in the past will pale in comparison to what God is going to do in the future. He is going to unleash explosive blessings to where suddenly you find yourself further than you ever imagined. Instead of just dreaming your dreams, you'll be living your dreams, walking in the fullness of the blessing.

When we hear the word "invest", we often think of investing in the stock market, in real estate, or for retirement. While it's good to invest that way, the truth is, those investments will eventually fade away. The best inheritance we can leave our children and others around us is what we invested in them, not what we left for them. When we're not taking time to share what we know with the next generation, then we are not being faithful with what God has given us. God expects us to impart to others. The next generation should not have to start over. They shouldn't have to re-learn what we've already learned. We should be pouring everything we know into our children, into a young person, into that co-worker in the office. We're all leaving a legacy. Let's make sure it's an intentional legacy. The only investments that are going to last are the investments we make in other people. We didn't get to where we are on our own. Somebody invested in us.

In life, no matter how much good there is you can always find something bad if you look for it. You can develop an eye for the good or you can develop a critical eye. Scripture says, "To the pure all things are pure." If you can't ever see anything right, you drive down the freeway and only see the traffic, construction and potholes and never the beauty, if you only see the scratch on the floor and never the amazing house, if you never see what people do right and only what they do wrong, it's time to clean your window; the way you view life. When we let a critical spirit rise up and start magnifying the wrong things and think thoughts like, "Why do they dress like that? What's their problem? If I were them, I wouldn't do that", our spirit is being polluted and we're hurting ourselves in the long run. When we are critical and judgmental, we are sowing seeds for others to be critical and judgmental back towards us. God longs to continually bless us and take us higher and higher in all aspects of life, but we have to make sure we're doing our part by keeping our heart pure, our mouth free of gossip and our minds free of judgment. Make a decision not to be a faultfinder because that can keep you from your destiny. Just as one develops a habit of seeing the worst, you can train yourself to see the best in others. There is good in every situation.</itunes:subtitle>

The road of greatness often goes through the road of smallness. Scripture says, "Don't despise the day of small beginnings." When God has something great for you to do, He often starts with something small. During the years of doing what might be considered an insignificant task where it looks like no progress is being made, that's when you're getting prepared the most for the great things God has in store. You may feel like you're doing something right now that's insignificant. You're in the wilderness. You're not growing, and you've got bigger things in your heart. But you need to have a new perspective. When we show God we're faithful in the wilderness, He'll promote us to our promise land. Just because we might start out small does not mean we're going to end there. But we have to remain faithful even in the small things. When we're faithful with the tasks at hand, that's building character. Our roots are going down deep. We're developing strength, trust and confidence. You will...

God desires to do something new in all of our lives. Even when we feel it the least, when disappointments happen and we go through hard times, He still desires to show Himself strong. Often times what keeps us from the new things He wants to do is not stepping out of our comfort zones. When we step out in faith and are willing to grow, to walk through doors when they open, to meet the new people God places in our lives and when we take advantage when new opportunities when they come, that's when God does exciting things in our lives. You're not too old, and you haven't made too many mistakes to see God do something new in your life. He knows how to get you to your final destination and how to connect the dots. When one dream dies, dream another dream. Just because something didn't work out one way doesn't mean God doesn't have another plan; nothing has to destroy your future. God has something new for you!

Our words have creative power. With our words, we can either bless or curse our future. If you want to know what you're going to be like 5 years from now, listen to what you're saying about yourself; even the small things you say over your life from "I'll never get that promotion" to "I'm just so tired all the time." The moment we verbalize a thought, whether positive or negative, we give that thought the right to come to pass. To see God's best in your life, you have to stay on the offensive and speak victory over your life. The Bible says, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so." It's not enough just to "not speak anything negative." You have to take it a step further and speak victory over your life. You can't speak defeat and expect to have victory. There is a correlation between what we say and what God does, but nothing happens until we speak our faith out.
God wants to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask, think or imagine. Scripture says it's our faith that pleases God. Average faith is good, but uncommon faith, where you have a boldness and confidence to believe for the extraordinary, will bring extraordinary results. When you have uncommon faith, you will see uncommon results. In the Bible, God interrupted the entire universe just because one man, Joshua, had uncommon faith. Because Joshua was bold enough to ask and believe, God caused the sun to stand completely still for an entire day so he could win a battle. There is nothing too far out for God to do. The question is, are you releasing uncommon faith and asking God for extraordinary requests? You may not need something such as good weather, you may need God to heal a child, restore a relationship, give favor at work with a client, or cause a break in a legal situation; whatever you need, release your faith for the extraordinary and uncommon.
Colossians 3:23 says, "Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as though you're working unto God and not unto men." When you're excellent in the workplace, knowing that you're working under God and not under man, God not only is going to increase your talent and skills, but new doors of opportunities will open and you will gain influence, credibility and respect in the workplace. When you have the Spirit of excellence, you go the extra mile, knowing that the quality of your work is a reflection of the quality of your character. Excellence isn't something that we do every once in a while, as long as someone is watching. Excellence should be the standard, especially in the workplace. It not only honors God to be excellent, but it also benefits you. When you're diligent with what God has given you, He will help you achieve what you can't do in your own strength. When we're excellent in the work place, our whole life is bringing praise to God.

In the Old Testament, the year of Jubilee was celebrated every fifty years. During this time, all debt was forgiven, prisoners were set free and the land that had been repossessed was returned to its original owner. But something greater than the year of Jubilee lay ahead. The prophet Isaiah declared, "The spirit of the Lord is upon me to announce a day when free favor of God profusely abounds". Many years later, Jesus quoted the same passage, but he said, "I'm here to declare that it has arrived." We're not living in the day where Isaiah announced that the free favor of God was coming; we're living in the day where Jesus declared that it has already arrived. We don't have to wait for a once-in-a-lifetime flood of favor or thirty years to be blessed and set free; we can experience it now because of what Jesus has done. When we live Jubilee minded, we can expect unusual things; acceleration, things to happen faster than you thought because Jubilee is not just a time of blessing, it's...

It's where you reap not only the seeds that you have sown, but the seeds of generations that have gone before you. Start expecting God to act; not next year, not five years, not when you retire. Start expecting God to act this year. This is your year to be released to increase, to see acceleration and the free favor of God profusely abound.</itunes:subtitle>

A breakthrough is a sudden burst of God's favor. It's an explosion of His goodness. It's when all of the sudden, God releases His power in such a way that you're overwhelmed by His goodness. Like the powerful force of water during a flood can move objects weighing thousands of pounds, even homes; that same magnitude of strength is the same way God wants to move in our lives. During the difficult times when situations and circumstances look extremely large, when obstacles look impassable and dreams look unobtainable, God desires to show up and release His power. Even during intense moments of feeling overwhelmed, God desires to show up and prove Himself strong. David was overwhelmed at times, especially when his army was outnumbered with little chance of winning during a battle. But David asked God for help, and God didn't just show up and help a little.

When God closes a door, it's because He has something better in store. Just as God supernaturally brings people into our lives, He will supernaturally move people out of our lives, as well. When a person has served their purpose, if we don't freely let them go, we won't be able to move forward into the new things God wants us to do; and we can't fully become who He desires for us to be. Like a crutch we use when we're injured, God, puts people in our lives for a period of time to help us through difficult situations. But, there comes a time where we have to let go of them in order to develop into our full potential. A crutch isn't always supposed to be used forever. If a crutch is used for too long, we can become too dependent on it; and our strength and full potential is weakened. Take an evaluation of your life. See if there are any crutches you've held on to for too long. They might have been good at one time, but now God is trying to take you to a new level. The crutch that was ...

God has a divine destiny for each one of us to fulfill. God did not make average people. We all have seeds of greatness, treasure inside waiting to be recognized and released. An imperative part of fulfilling our destiny is to develop our confidence in God, and in return, step out of our comfort zone. When we make a move, God will make a move. We have to do the natural and God will do the supernatural. It's easy to get stuck in our comfort zone, using only ten percent of what God has given us. If we're not uncomfortable every once in a while, then we're not using our faith. When we think bigger, God will act bigger. When we believe, we can rise higher, hold up our head, and walk like a child of the Most High God. That's when God shows up and shows out in unusual ways. When you learn to stretch your faith and step out of your comfort zone, you'll not only overcome obstacles that look insurmountable, but you will accomplish more than you ever thought possible.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ teaches us that God always finishes what He starts. No matter how long it seems like it's taking, no matter how dark it looks, God will always take us from Friday to Sunday. The Fridays in life are when it's our darkest hour, when it seems like the end. But just like Christ was resurrected from the grave on Sunday, God desires to resurrect our lives. God can breathe new life into our marriages, finances, health, family and dreams. When it looks like the end; it's not. Make the declaration of faith like Jesus, "It is finished." What you're really saying is "God, I know you are going to turn this situation around." On the Fridays of your life when things aren't going your way, keep reminding yourself that Sunday is coming.

God has a plan for us to succeed even when we're treated unfairly. Our human nature wants to fix things on our own; getting even with someone, repaying evil for evil, but that's not God's plan. Scripture says, "Never avenge yourself but leave the way open for God." You can either avenge yourself or let God be your avenger, but you cannot have it both ways. God wants to be your avenger and make your wrongs right. And God doesn't just stop at avenging. He goes on and blesses you in front of your enemies. Psalm 23:5 says, "God prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies." Part of His vindication is promoting you so the opposition can see it. Whenever we face unfair situations, instead of being discouraged, we should have the attitude "They may be laughing now. It may not be fair. But I'm not the least bit worried. I know their injustice is preparing the way for God to promote me." If we can learn to stay on the high road no matter how great the opportunity to make somebod...

Part of His vindication is promoting you so the opposition can see it. Whenever we face unfair situations, instead of being discouraged, we should have the attitude "They may be laughing now. It may not be fair. But I'm not the least bit worried. I know their injustice is preparing the way for God to promote me." If we can learn to stay on the high road no matter how great the opportunity to make somebody look bad or how much we want to pay them back, and learn to rule over our emotions and trust God to be our avenger, He will bring justice in our lives that will not only make us better off, but better off than we could ever have been on our own.</itunes:subtitle>

You can either avenge yourself or let God be your avenger, but you cannot have it both ways. God wants to be your avenger and make your wrongs right. And God doesn't just stop at avenging.

Scripture tells us to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Every morning we have a choice, to put our hope in the Lord and put on a garment of praise, or to live discouraged and defeated. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, "Be happy in your faith, glad-hearted, continually and always." Notice how long we're supposed to be this way. As long as we feel okay? As long as people treat us right? No, it says, "continually and always." That means in the good times and in the tough times, when it's sunny and when it's raining. When those dark clouds are over your head and you feel like life is kind of gloomy, always remember, above those dark clouds the sun is shining! The good news is, the clouds are temporary. The sun is going to shine in your life once again. The key is, in the meantime, always keep your joy. In the difficult times, more than ever, that's when you need your strength. Don't be determined to never have problems; be determined to stay full of joy in the midst of your problems. Get up each morning and prepare for victory. Arrange your mind in the right direction. And no matter what comes your way, don't lose your joy. If you will keep the voice of joy and gladness, you cannot stay down and defeated. God has promised He is going to reverse and restore and the joy of the Lord will be your strength.</itunes:subtitle>

What is in your heart and mind is extremely important. In fact, scripture says to guard what's inside with all diligence because the condition of your heart and mind determines the condition of your whole life. When we let toxic poison into our lives, deep roots develop and they keep us from being our very best. Toxic poisons are all the negative words ever spoken over us by others that we keep believing. They also include negativity, low self-esteem, guilt and any negative emotion that doesn't line up with what God says we are. Detox the little dream, "I can't do it", "I don't see a way", and the "not good enough" thoughts. The way to get rid of them is to meditate on what God says about you. One scripture says that we should meditate day and night. In other words, continually, all day long, we should have thoughts playing like "I am blessed. I am prosperous. I am forgiven. I am loved and accepted. I am talented. I have the favor of God." When you dwell on thoughts like that, those...

We all have situations we face that seem like they could bury us: the loss of a loved one, bad news concerning our health, a layoff, a divorce. The only difference between being buried and being planted is the expectancy of what is going to happen next. When something is buried, it's not coming back. But when something is planted, like a seed, it always comes back, producing more than what it originally was when it went into ground. It's during the times before a seed blossoms that can seem dark and uncomfortable. It feels buried. It can't see any light. But the truth is, it hasn't been buried; it's only been planted. Before long, that seed is no longer hidden and alone. But it grows into beautiful plant producing all kinds of bright, colorful flowers or fruit. Jesus said in John 12:24, "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and is planted, it will not produce fruit." A seeds' potential will never be fully realized until it's planted. No matter what comes against you in life...

When you step into an anointing of ease, what was once difficult suddenly becomes easy. Things you used to struggle with are not a struggle anymore. There's a supernatural grace and favor that lightens the load and takes the pressure off. Jesus said, "My yolk is easy and my burden is light." No matter how things look, you should know the most powerful force in the universe, God Almighty, is blowing an anointing of ease in your direction. Scripture says, "It's not by our might. It's not by our power. But it's by the breath of Almighty God." As God breathes in your life, things become easier and negative situations turn around. Psalm 126 says, "It seemed like a dream too good to be true when God gave us the victory. Now God, do it again so those with heavy hearts will come out laughing with armloads of blessings." That's God's dream. When you have a heavy heart, when life deals you a difficult blow, God wants to turn it around and not only bring you out, but bring you out with a smile...

God has predestined us to live a life of victory. But when things happen that don't make sense and they're hard to understand, it's easy to get stuck trying to make sense of everything. But God has another piece to the puzzle of your life coming your way. Life is not always fair, but God is fair. He promises in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for our good. The key is the word "together." In other words, we can't isolate one part of our life and say, "Well, this isn't good." It might be true, but it's just one part of our life and one piece of our puzzle. God sees the bigger picture and disappointment is not the end. Our life doesn't end because of one setback. The Scripture says that all our days have been written in God's book. He's already recorded every part of our lives from the beginning to the end. He knows every disappointment, loss and challenge. The good news is our story ends in victory. Our final chapter concludes with fulfilling our God-given destiny. Sometimes...

Sometimes it's easy to become focused on what didn't work out as we've reread that chapter of our life 450 times! But when this happens, it's time to move forward into the new chapter God has in store. God has some ingredients for your life coming your way that will turn the sour into sweet and the mourning into dancing.

Time is one of the most valuable commodities that we have. The Apostle Paul said we should run with purpose in every step. Each day we have the same amount of time to use. If we use our emotional energy for the wrong purposes, focused on the negative, dwelling on who hurt us, we're not going to have the energy we need for the right purposes. We're not going to make the best decisions. We're not going to be as creative with our gifts, and our talents won't come out to the full. Part of living purposeful is to keep offenses, bitterness and grudges from robbing our energy. Like the sun shines brightly each day, that is how we ought to be; we shouldn't let anything block our light. With this gift of life comes a responsibility to develop our talents, to pursue our God-given goals, to become everything that He has created us to be. On a regular basis, reevaluate what you're doing and how you're spending your time. Refocus your life. Let go of any distractions. Shake off any self-pity, an...

It's easy in life to feel forgotten, that our hopes and dreams don't matter. But God said in Isaiah 49:15, "I will never forget you. I have carved you into the palm of My hand." People may leave you when you need them the most, but God is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. God knows every lonely night, and He sees every tear you've ever shed. When life deals you a tough blow, when you pray but the heavens are silent, you need to remind yourself of this promise, "God has not forgotten about me, my hopes or my dreams. He's not forgotten about the unfair things I've been through or the years of sacrificing and giving. He's promised He'll pay me back double." All those seeds that you've sown, it's just a matter of time before you reap your harvest. We serve a God that is not limited to the natural. You have an assignment and destiny to fulfill.
It's easy to be tempted to give up on a goal, prayer or desire when it seems as if the answer isn't coming as quickly as you would like. Yet, at these times, dare to learn how to hope even more in God. Usually, our battles seem the darkest just before the dawn. Just like a woman experiences birth pains right before the birth of her child, we too experience intense moments before breakthrough. Yet, we must not give up prematurely during these heated times. In Hebrews 10:35 it says, "Do not cast away your confidence for it will be richly rewarded." As faith-filled believers, we must keep hoping, keep believing and staying faithful. Many times, we are closer than we think to victory. God is faithful to His promises. When God says we will be richly rewarded for keeping our confidence in Him, that should give us a second wind, giving us fuel to keep up the faith. Don't give up today on your dreams and your hope in God. By developing the attitude, "I've come too far to stop now" and learn...

God's hand is outstretched toward us. That means there is a supernatural power behind every believer. As believers, you and I have an advantage. We don't have to go through life just depending on our own talent, our own ability and our own strength. God's hand will help us accomplish whatever seems impossible. When it looks impossible, don't stay down. Look up and see Gods hand and reach out to Him. You may be struggling in your finances; stretch out your hand toward that business. Stretch out your hand toward that house you're trying to sell. Or maybe stretch out your hand toward your checkbook and say, "Father, as an act of my faith, I am stretching out my hand, believing that I am connecting with Your outstretched hand, knowing that right now, You're releasing supernatural increase, supernatural promotion." You need to go around talking to yourself, "Father, thank you that Your blessings are chasing me down and overtaking me. Thank you that whatever I touch prospers and succeeds....

You might have planned on having an average year but God has already lined up an extraordinary year. You might have planned on just getting by but God is planning on abundance. He's planning on overflow. Often times we look at situations that are happening in the natural. We might look at the economy, or our pocket book and are tempted to look at this year with a limited perspective, not really expecting much. But we have to realize God is a supernatural God. Just because we don't see a way doesn't mean God doesn't have a way. You may not see how things will work out, but all you need to respond with is, "Lord, I believe." God is directing your steps and will put the right people in your path and put you at the right place at the right time. You may be in debt, but God says, "You're coming out. You're coming into overflow."
Not every battle is worth fighting. Many of the challenges that come our way are simply distractions trying to lure us from our destiny. When we have opportunities to get upset, maybe somebody is talking about us, or a competitor at work is spreading rumors, or our spouse says something that they shouldn't have, we ought to stop and ask ourselves, "If I engage in this battle and spend my time and energy trying to straighten somebody out, defending myself, arguing with a family member, trying to prove that I'm right, even if I win this battle what is the prize going to be? What is this fight going to accomplish?" You see, there are a lot of battles that come across our lives each day, but they simply aren't worth the fight. The end result is strife and disharmony. Proverbs 20:3 says, "Avoiding a fight is mark of honor." If you want to honor God and enjoy your life, decide to be a peacemaker. Be the kind of person that will avoid an unnecessary fight.

One of the greatest stress relievers God has given us is laughter. It not only makes us feel better, but it actually releases healing throughout our system. When we laugh, it restores and rejuvenates what the pressures of life have taken out. Proverbs 17:22 puts it like this, "A happy heart is like a good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing." Notice, when we're good-natured and full of joy, taking time to laugh and play, it's like taking a good medicine. That's what helps us to stay healthy. People that laugh regularly are 40% less likely to have a heart attack than people that don't laugh regularly. Laughter triggers the right side of the brain, which helps release creativity and helps us to make better decisions. There is too much sickness in our world today. Much of it is related to sadness. It's directly related to the fact that we don't smile enough. We live uptight and stressed out. But even during trials and hard times, God says to us, "I've got a solution. For something new to happen, something has to resonate on the inside; your spirit man has to come into agreement with God and believe what the scriptures say.
Every one of us as God's children has what the Scripture calls, "the blessing." It's an empowerment, a divine enablement to accomplish our God- given dreams. The blessing is really God's favor on your life. We've all experienced a measure of this blessing. But there is a level of blessing God is going to release in your life like nothing you've ever seen before. The Apostle Paul said in Romans, "I will come in the fullness of the blessing." That word "fullness" means "to the highest degree, the greatest measure." You may look at your life right now and see how God has blessed you, but God is saying, "You haven't seen anything yet." You haven't touched the surface of what God has in store. You've walked in a measure of that blessing, but God has a much greater measure. He has promotion lined up for you that if He showed you right now, it would boggle your mind. What you've seen in the past is a tiny fraction of what God is going to do in the future.
You can tell a lot about a person by what it takes to get them upset. Our emotions are either controlled by our circumstances or our character. When someone is rude, our emotions say, "Pay them back. Get even", which doesn't take much discipline! But when our strength is under control and we've taken the time to develop our character, we realize, "I'm bigger than this. I'm not going to let them pull me down. I've got places to go, goals to accomplish and dreams to bring to fruition." 3 John 2 says that God wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health. God desires to prosper our entire soul - our mind, will and emotions. If we can learn to control our emotions and how we react to those who treat us unfairly, God sees and will reward us for our Christ-like character. We can't always control how others treat us, but we can control how we react to others. We're not supposed to drag through the day frustrated, upset and offended.
God has new victories out in front of you. You may have been through some disappointments in the past, but now it's time to arise and shine and believe again, dream again, and hope again. We have to be open for the new tasks set before us by God, and believe by faith that He will give us the strength, wisdom and will power to achieve what looks impossible. We should not get stagnant thinking ,"this is all I know how to do", or live in the past victories that are behind us. When the Old Testament Prophet Moses died, Joshua was left to lead the Israelites across the Jordan River. He remembered how Moses, in the past, held up his rod and parted the Red Sea. But in Joshua's new circumstance, God had a different plan. He had to stay open for the new direction, and once he did and obeyed, despite how things were done in the past, and how "things once were", he let God lead him in new leadership and the waters parted, and the people were able to go through on dry ground.

God will bring the right people into your life at the right time, and He'll also allow the right people to leave at the right time. You see, it's God's desire for us to continue to grow in Him and to take every opportunity that's put before us to use for His glory. Sometimes, there are people in our lives that can keep us from being our best and can actually keep us from our God-given destiny. They might tell us we aren't that talented, or that we can't do a particular task, or they might just be doing something that we are supposed to be doing, but we would never get to do that particular thing until they've moved on in life. By seeing change in the right way and realizing when God closes a door it's because He has something better in store, we won't get bent out of shape and have our joy stolen when these changes happen. When a person has served their purpose in our life, if we don't freely let them go, it's going to keep us from the new things God wants to do. Sometimes you might...

Do you have a plan for personal growth? The Bible says in Proverbs 22:29, "Do you see a person skilled in their work? They will stand before great men, not obscure people." That's saying if you will be diligent to develop the gifts that God has given you, more doors will open and you'll see promotion and favor with men. You see, we should not be where we are in our skills, our talents, our careers and relationships as we were a year ago. We should constantly be growing. Just like a child grows automatically, developing mentally and physically, we too should never quit challenging ourselves, growing and improving. Every day we should pray for God to use us to the fullest capacity, and at the same time, we have to make sure we are doing our part to cultivate our talents and gifts.

God longs for us to be like a well-watered garden, flourishing, full of joy, always in blossom, even during times of famine. In the Bible, the prophet Elijah experienced an extreme drought for three and half years. Even though his circumstances could have easily kept him discouraged, he activated His faith through praising God and thanking Him for all He had done. It wasn't long before the heavens opened up and provided rain for the people in the land. When you are in a dry spell, decide to be like Elijah and continue to give God praise. The key to staying flourished and keeping vitality in our lives during dry times is to send up praise. By praising God at all times, what happens naturally with rain accumulating in a cloud will be the same spiritually in our lives. When you keep sending up praise, that cloud, like a rain cloud, can only hold so much before it releases and comes bursting down.
We have many opportunities each day to worry and live in fear, from being worried about the economy and our health to our family and children, the list could go on and on! But did you know faith and fear have something in common? They both ask us to believe something is going to happen that we cannot see. Fear says, "Business is slow. You're going to go under." But faith says, "Your best days are still out in front of you." When we give in to thoughts of fear, our perspective becomes distorted. Fear is like a fog. It makes things look worse than what they really are. It might look intimidating, but there is nothing really to it, just a bunch of vapors that can fit in a small glass. You were created for a life of victory, not to have your enthusiasm and joy stolen by fear. Choose to walk in faith today. Remember, it takes the same amount of energy to worry as it does to have faith. So switch your gears to having faith and trusting God. Use your energy to believe and not worry. Our God is all-powerful. He has brought you through in the past, and He is going to bring you through in the future. Surround yourself with people of faith who will speak victory into your life. If you'll be disciplined in your thought life and learn to choose faith instead of fear, you're going be filled with a constant peace and confidence. You were created for a life of victory, not to have your enthusiasm and joy stolen by fear. Choose to walk in faith today. Remember, it takes the same amount of energy to worry as it does to have faith. So switch your gears to having faith and trusting God. God works everything out for good and to your advantage!</itunes:summary>
