The 80's Style Metal Song

This song is the critical point of my compositional path. I first get the idea from my studies of riffs and song structures of The Mainstream Hard Rock and/or Heavy Metal Band of the 80’s. The 4th note of the riff clearly influenced by them espectially the riffs of Kiss which used roughly the same technics of composition. The Pre-Chorus part’s chord progession is borrowed from Van Halen’s song “Panama”, but no one, hitherto, recognized it. The chorus part is my (not so) original style adapted with other parts of the song. The worst part of the song is the solo. I cannot properly finish it when I was in my compositional type of consciousness. But, after all the result is my most listenable song for ordinary listeners. So, it is strongly recommended. Enjoy! P.S. I recently found out the the intro part sound somewhat similar to Dragonball Z’s opening theme “Chala Head Chala”.

Old School Metalcore Protest Song

As it’s name suggest this song must be read against the background of the old school Metalcore (of the mid-90 as opposed to the NWOAHM new Metalcore) I write this song very fast. Initially, I mean to write another Power Thrash Metal songs as usual, but as my personal context of protesting go, I start to understand hardcore riff as incoperate them in the song. Although this song might sounnd quite incomplete, I do not think I can compose the seemingly “potential” part properly. This song is really for the moment of protest, when noticing something really wrong and the fight is really a must. After the moment pass I cannot write in the hardcore style anymore and I think this song might be at its best now. Enjoy!

5/4 Metal Song

This song is the first one of the “Uncompleted” Series to be presented here. The uncompleted series are the songs which I cannot properly finished at first, but still they have some good parts, so they are worth publicized in some ways. This song name come from the intro part which I compose it using 5/4 time signature and it come out quite well. However, the overall part of the song seems to be too much of repetition of varitions of roughly the same riff and the chorus guitar part is extremly hard to play for general guitarists who have never practice sweep-picking or other arpeggio technics. Despite all this flaws of the song, I think it worth showing anyway. Enjoy!

After I got sick of myself writing awful vocal melody, I had an idea of covering songs since in doing that I do not have to write the vocal melody myself and I am a big fan of rock/metal covers. After an attempt I have to drop the plan of covering I Will Survive and YMCA since I cannot imagine how to properly finish them. However, this song is not the case. I first tried to arrange it 2-3 years ago. This time I just have to dust it off and complete it with all the line. The result it quite well. Even I do not satisfied with some parts, I think It is enough to say that This short cover is quite finished. Note: I arrange this song from my memory. I have not check it with the original.

E Dorian Metal Song

Formally, this is my fourth song and the best one since the first (Without the harmony part, the second one is almost awfully simple. The Third is simply sightly better than OK in my opinion). This is also the first one that I disquality myself of writing the vocal melody, so the songs consist of only four lines – 2 guitars, bass and drums. The name of the song derived from the main scale of the primary riff of the song which is the pre-verse and verse riff. This song I draw influences from difference sources, as usual. I use Helloween’s Melody on top of Mercyful Fate’s Rhythm (however, the latter is only the result of recent analysis when I listen to Mercyful Fate Carefully) and Use the Chorus is the stlye the make me think of the Japanese Band X-Japan (I’m not the Big Fan of them. But This Type of riff is more or less rare in European or American ban of This Style. They do not use the third note in the Chord in such riff) which I personally analyse as the different evolution line ...

Spiritual Beggars, Stoner Metal and Power Metal Influence

In my formal compositional memory, this is my third song. This song is started as a Spiritual Beggars Influence Riff. When the composition went on, the Power Metal style of fingering returned to its place in the Riffs. However, when the main parts were finish. I just really wonder how could power metal and stoner metal blend together really well in the song. If I have to describe it in short I would say that this song is the “attempt at composing stoner metal of power metal composer.” The result is much better than what I think I would become at first.

Von Schelling, The Abyss of Freedom/ Ages of the World, (The University of Michigan Press, 1997), p. 14 The above quotation have almost nothing to do with the song itself, except the guy who says that is one of the composer’s favourite philosophers (among Diogenes, Feyerabend and some other Radicals) and the status of the song follows roughly the same logic as the quotation. This is the song before my first song. What it means is that this song is something before my standardized version of composition which I establish in my “first song”. The Other stings parts were accidetially composed intiate by creative mistake. The song structure itself is strange when read against my other work. However, it finally ends. Its so atmospheric. I would not expect myself to really compose that. Nowaday, when I listen to it, I just say to myself shortly “Wow”.</itunes:subtitle>

I’ve made a mistake uploading earlier mono version of the song which sound very flat, so I uploaded a better stereo version. A Second Complete Song. The main riff pop up in my Head When I was in a bus (However, after, complete the sound I found out that it sound similar to a Trivium’s song. It’s too late to change that without remake the whole song then. I suppose.) I like the rhythm storm of the second part. I borrow the style of one guitar from Funk, but I delete its funky feeling. The Third and Fourth part is roughly the same idea, but with a variation. I my opinion the Peak of the song is on the Fouth Part’s “Wall of Sound” interpretition of the third Part. Finally, the last thing to note is that in the last part of the solo of this song is used the technic borrows from the Mighty Technical Death Metal Band Gorguts which is the technic of muting the stings with left hand and tapping with the right hand.

Arch Enemy and Power Metal Influence (Remastered)

I’ve made a mistake uploading earlier mono version of the song which sound very flat, so I uploaded a better stereo version. This is my very first song to complete with every instrumental lines. I borrow the intro from Pantera and Arch Enemy. The Main riff from Megadeth and Nevermore. The verse riff from Helloween and Dark Moor (or even Power Metal in general). The Pre-Chorus Riff I don’t know where it from it might just come out from my free improvising habit. The chorus is the Melody on basic chords. The bass line style might sound similar to Helloween styles, but actually I just the notes in the chords and lots of people use the style. The weak point of the song I really see when I write it is all the Melodical Line. However, It is just another time that I feel I got a very bad sense of melody. Actually, I feel I am a riff composer. After all the result of the attempt is quite well. I still like the song. PS. Do not expect the song to resemble the songs of the band mentioned abov...

Post New Year 2006 (Mono Version)

Note: This is the Old Version of the Song which I think I sound flatter than what it suppose to be. The Remastered one with a better sound is available at http://studio.odeo.com/play#/1743230 . I do not want to erase this song since I post the link Elsewhere which I cannot delete, so I do not want It to be a dead link. After all the Remastered Version sound much better. If you Like This, Listening to the remastered version is strongly recommend. Fi...
