<description>The weekend before last I finally listened to nlinus&amp;#8217; new podcast - The kNOw Show. My pal nlinus produced a previous podcast with his wife known as Culture Cafe. I was a fan of that show too, in fact I mentioned it along with some of my other favorites in Mp3 Killed the Radio Star. Episode 3 of the kNOw Show is entitled The Simian Show as an homage to The Simian Syndicate. In fact nlinus uses the Booze Monkey tune Taylor Boogie as his show&amp;#8217;s theme song. Yay! This past weekend I decided to forgo my planned work on the new Booze Monkey CD and pursue a bit of surprise inspiration. The result is a bit of downtempo that I&amp;#8217;ve entitled Theives, musicians, serial killers&amp;#8230; after a phrase that nlinus used to describe our message forum community Babble-on. It was a fun little diversion. It is freely downloadable. Give it a listen if you are so inclined. If you dig it, feel free to burn it and share it at will&amp;#8230; just don&amp;#8217;t sell it. <description>The Simian Syndicate is just a little late this time, we recorded this show on 7 August 2005, but I didn&amp;#8217;t get the file compressed and uploaded until&amp;#8230; well&amp;#8230; now. TSS-15August2k5.mp3. The Simian Syndicate Show Number 12 with Mad Monty. This one is just over an hour long - approximately 30 MB filesize. This is a very relaxed show, we just riff and giggle and drink. This show features the initial version of the S.S. theme music which I&amp;#8217;ve been unable to return to since we started the show. Finally I&amp;#8217;ve fleshed it out, recorded all of the components and assembled the opening. A shortened version of this opening will become the &amp;#8220;standard opening&amp;#8221; for future shows. I do plan to periodically play with opening mixes as I&amp;#8217;ve done up to this point, but now that we have a standard opening in the can we can record shows occasionally with less prep and scheduling. As I&amp;#8217;ve stated recently, and in this show if I remember correctly, I plan to play with the format of our podcasts from here on out, this is a new medium, I don&amp;#8217;t want to fall into a structure too quickly. We have settled on the two-person talk/comedy/music format for this show. That should be obvious to anyone who has listened to the bulk of our shows, but I want to do more music-only shows like the &amp;#8220;Mp3 Killed the Radio Star&amp;#8221; show (Number 11) as well. We riff about cocktails, poker, shuffleboard, skeet shooting, the Wakeman&amp;#8217;s Grove Invitational Blues Jam, South Mountain Magic, Rocket Jones, Ken &amp;#038; Squip, product placement, Amazonian Boob Removal, and whatever else floats into our widdle brains at the time. I play the Booze Monkey tune Chip and a Chair and the first ever Simian Syndicate Podcast Madlib featuring Squip from the Ken and Squip Show. I believe I also mentioned in this show that we&amp;#8217;ve finally taken photos of my StompBox so that we can better describe its&amp;#8217; innards and use. I&amp;#8217;ve received a handful of emails asking about it. Hopefully we&amp;#8217;ll get those photos online later this week. Enjoy! Oh! A Post Script - If you are listening to this show, and you dig it, call the Simian Syndicate Hotline at 206-Monkey9 and let us know!</itunes:subtitle>

As I&amp;#8217;ve stated recently, and in this show if I remember correctly, I plan to pl...</description>

<description>TSS-2August2k5.mp3. The Simian Syndicate Show #11 - This show is approximately 12.5 minutes long - about 14.3 MB filesize. This one is a little outside the box. What the heckfar do we need with that box? Last week I received an email from the Squipper. I had mentioned to her recently that I was going to record a song I had written about podcasters and podcasting. The band Cruisebox beat me to it and she sent me a link to their site and song: ThatPodcastSong.com I visited their site, saw and heard what they had done, and was immediately inspired. As a result of this inspiration I&amp;#8217;ve done something different with The Simian Syndicate Show #11. This show is sort of a hybrid, remix, mash, cover, derivative, audio transmogrification&amp;#8230; uh&amp;#8230; er&amp;#8230; something. You&amp;#8217;ll have to listen to it and call it what you will. <itunes:summary>TSS-2August2k5.mp3. I have linked to the original Cruisebox song, which is included in this show and I have released this work under the same Creative Commons License. I know this is weird, I hope you enjoy it. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons NonCommercial Sampling Plus 1.0 License.. Update - 2:45 PM EDT I wanted to leave this post at the top of the page for a while, so instead of putting a new post online I decided to edit this one. I received an incredibly gracious and kind email from Greg St.Clare of Cruisebox. They are every bit as cool as their music! They&amp;#8217;ve since placed a link to this podcast on their site. Here is a screen capture from their site: Way cool, methinks!</itunes:summary>
