Papers strewn, some upside down aimless spills and coffee grounds. Ink-less pens with chewed on ends gravity pulls, making no amends. Empty cigarette packs and ashy keys nerves rattled but no-one sees. CDs in mismatched homes plastic breaks, the music roams. Poems give birth in dirty spaces. My desk, my diary, and unkempt places. © Janet Caldwell Sept. 24, 2003

I walked into your subconscious as you visualized a wish fulfilled but the wish was flawed and imperfect, it didn’t reveal the clarity of the cause. It was like my response to your presence and my true feelings. It sidestepped a reality I always fear to face knowing rejection has a bitter taste. So you saw me playing the clown because I can’t afford to let my guard down. But when I do come listen well. My invitation will be a command that warms the sun at it’s zenith, melts the summit of Everest, stirs the Blue Nile into a frenzy, and then calms it for it means my hearts dreams have been realized. Come get into the limo, there is no one here except me, the driver, and cooled champagne. This is the time we always knew we would make happen. So let us celebrate a momentary victory. And then, and then, and then, we’ll kiss, get out , smile and return to work. Big business ain’t nothing but street game. Big business ain’t othing but street game. MBA, I’m proud and that is truly fine. But. BIG BUSINESS AIN’T NOTHING BUT STREET GAME. STREET GAME. street game. Take a playa’s lesson….....MBA BIG BUSINESS AIN’T NOTHING BUT STREET GAME. Enron, Merril Lynch, Worldcom, Bronfman Enterprises, Lucent Technologies, Motown, Notown, and Yotown, ABC. CBS, CNN, TNT, Washington Post, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, BET, and Martha Stewart. Hey baby where’s the game tonight? You can’t win it cause you ain’t in it. Names the same don’t be lame. BIG BUSINESS AIN’T NOTHING BUT STREET GAME. For those contemplating a marketing career this lesson is immediately clear.
I sit in my box awaiting return of my peculiar but caged birds arent singing Maya and there is no cow near the moon. Hey diddle diddle is the song for fools, and Jack ran away from Jill leaving her with three babies cause he didnt believe in birth control. Jill has a new man named John and the confused children cry for daddy, any daddy who will protect and love them. Mamas brand new bag is the same old one looking for someone else to assume her responsibilities as she now awaits the arrival of baby number four. And prostitution is redefined as those who bring children into the world for whom they have little care, and loving is out of the question. So they confirm Fanons theory about multiplication of the wretched and we looking through a glass darkly no longer ponder about misery but search for a way to contain it.

Piggy’s Farm has its most wonderful day: Over the horizon sits a warm sun, and a bright blue sky. Little white cottony lambs jump for no reason why. A beautiful fairy comes by and the farm comes to life. The chicken begin to sing and ducks lay golden eggs. Little piggys grow wings and they fly up into the sky. By nightfall they return and Farmer Matt is happy. For on a good clear night Farmer Matt counts the stars, and sees the smile of the pregnant full moon above. Farmer Matt only prays it will never rain frogs. for he does not like frogs, they always jump around and say, “Rip-it! Rip-it!” Farmer Matt always prays for sunny sky, piggys fly, ducks’ golden lays, and the moon… A pie in the sky! ©Sandie May Angel, June 29, 2006 More info: www.authorsden.com

Prince Charming And I by Sandie May Angel

If I were not me Who would I want to be I would want to be a princess who lives in a fairy tale. My prince charming would be the most handsome guy, and one who would be so kind; and my parents the King and Queen would be most lovable and not be mean. And everyday Prince Charming and I would roam the palace; watch the flowers bloom. Trees would grow tall and strong; We would lie in the green meadows watch the clouds float by. We would drink fine wine from the thirst quenching streams; bathe in the warmth of the golden sunshine. We would ride on dragons that fly in the sky; and our birds could sing sweet melodies that travel afar. and our town folks would live in peace and harmony Then, Prince Charming and I would live happily ever after.
