Here’s my analysis and opinion on the BBC’s iPlayer service, what the current restrictions by rights holders means for the availability of content in the current situation, and why I think it won’t really matter in the long run. I speak a bit fast, as usual (sorry), try and keep up because I’m not transcripting this. (I don’t know if I could!) ;) Some stuff I referenced in this blogcastaudiopod: BBC iPlayer, bbc.co.uk/iplayer (UK only) BBC Backstage, http://backstage.bbc.co.uk Kontiki (now owned by Verisign) BBC iPlayer on Linux project, http://sourceforge.net/projects/bbciplayerlinux/

Why Odeo will never reach critical mass

...until they fix these flaws: a description of what’s wrong with Odeo at the moment, and my thoughts on how they can go about fixing it. Once again, an abysmal quality recording for someone who’s on a Music Tech course and should really own better kit than this (sorry, poor). Once again, many words and quite long. However, what I said I believe is all on point and hopefully it should strike a chord with others who feel in a similar way to myself but aren’t quite sure what to do about the whole thing. Fix up Odeo!

Bear witness to the bizarre concoction of thoughts and flitting observations that is my psyche… If you dare. :D Oh, and by the way, when I’m going on about ‘this is how much of a vinyl junkie I am’, I drifted off into talking about my summer holiday job at Tesco, and neglected to finish the previous sentence… Basically, this is how much of a vinyl junkie I am: whenever I have to pick up some of the Tesco Value 12” cheese & tomato pizzas from the shelf, I ALWAYS pick them up like a record (round the edges with the palms of both hands) and then flip them over like I’m changing sides on the record :D YES, THAT GEEKY! Hope you enjoy these 15-odd minutes of sweet nothings, there’s plenty more where they came from!
