Ron Androla was born August 7, 1954 of Syrian and Italian heritage. He lived in Ellport, Pennsylvania his first 18 years, and began writing at age thirteen. He attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh, and Franconia College in New Hampshire. He lives with his wife Ann in Erie, Pennsylvania, but has resided in College Park; Maryland, Seattle; Washington, Lugano; Switzerland, and on the island of Corsica. Ron worked in factories for 35 years after college and a first marriage, two children, Rachel, and Doug. He has four grandchildren, a large, black dog, and two cats. His career as a Poet spans from the late 1970's, with publishing credits across the world. He describes his place in American poetry as "underground the underground".
