In this AudioCast a member of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee Department of Institutional Reform talks about the role of the Muslim women in the Mosque. In keeping with Islamic history, Muslims must work to develop more welcoming and accessible spaces for the women in their congregations. Their spaces in mosque buildings must be inviting, well-lit and shared with men in the same physical area. As long as all Muslim adults respect the Islamic rules for proper dress, greetings and conversation, there is no reason why women and men should not share the same physical space in a mosque.

Everyday thousands of Muslims are waking up to the reality of life in the UK, from being demonised in the press, almost made to apologise for their faith and having ineffectual institutions (masjids) that cannot serve them without serious reformation. Many of these Muslims are looking forward to the future and here at MPACUK we have a vision of a Muslim group of the future….

MPACUK: Open Day PodCast

Considering the treacherous times we are living in, Muslims really need to wake up and smell the grime. But it seems we have become so used to this smell that it doesn’t bother us that it wafts into our every day lives. What with the news of human rights abuse in Palestine, civil wars in Iraq and foreign policy in the west broadcasted everyday it shocks no one anymore. It doesn’t matter what kind of oppression and torture is going on as long as we can get on with our little lives. What we don’t realize is that this oppression and torture is very close to our own doorsteps and is affecting us more and more every day with every action we don’t take. Today it may be Palestine or Iraq, tomorrow it may be us. We urge Muslims to wake up and take action now. Come to one of MPACUK’s training days in your area. We currently have teams in Manchester, London, Leeds and Birmingham.

MPAC has finally arrived in Manchester. The Manchester MPAC is the fourth MPACUK Team to be set up in the UK. We aim to roll back the rising tide of Islamaphobic hatred that affects our lives here and abroad. The Muslim Public Affairs Committee is the most effective Muslim group in Britain today that is fighting back against the ever increasing and powerful forces of bigotry and intolerance. As the times become ever more dangerous, so MPAC is finding more Muslims with the courage to fight back are joining. No longer are the Muslim men and women willing to sit back and allow themselves to become targets, oppressed themselves and oppressed as a people. No now young men and women are coming forward and joining the struggle day by day. Why not become one of these be Muslims, why not protect the innocent both here and abroad. It is now or never as each day, those who oppose you, grow in strength and confidence. Come to the MPAC Manchester Open Day and find out more. All you need to do is...
