Notes from the record:
The mighty tones of the pipe organ have always been a source of inspiration to people everywhere. Organ enthusiasts enjoy comparing the various instruments and players enjoy the variety of sounds produced by the different stops as well as the quality built into these great instruments—all the way from studio models to the mighty cathedral organs. One of the most pleasing sounds in pipe organ music today is the tone of the Robert Morton Pipe Organ located in the Lorin Whitney Studios, Glendale, California. This splendid instrument has been heard many times over the radio networks. Under the masterful touch of Lorin Whitney, its sound was never more inspirational. Mr. Whitney is known internationally as a result of his years spent with the Billy Graham Team, both in evangelistic campaigns and on the Hour of Decision Broadcast. He is also well-known for his many personal appearances and his own organ programs on radio. Collaborating with Mr. Whitney on this recording is Mr. Ralph Platt, Whistler. This man’s unusual talent blends in beautifully with the strains of the organ, thus presenting an unusual effect which is both interesting and refreshing.
