Odeo's Twitter in The News

The San Francisco Chronicle today named Twitter one of the "Cool Web 2.0 Sites". There's some nice startups on that short list. Thanks, Chronicle folks!

Install the Odeo Player

Hey Mac users: Try out the (unofficial) Odeo.app that Dom put together.

It's odeo/play wrapped in its own app—which is more useful than it sounds. I'm finding I really like playing stuff through it, because I always know where my sound is coming from (instead of hunting around for the currently playing tab).

Two New Features

Starred Audio Player

If you've starred some audio then you have a Starred Audio page with a link to customize and get the code for a Flash player so you can share the cool stuff you've found. Here's my customizable starred audio player page:

Swap out my username (Bizstone) for yours and you'll get a player for your starred audio. Also, check out how Ev put his starred audio on his blog.

Resume Play

Have you ever been listening to an audio at Odeo and had to close the page only to discover that you have to start it over again when you come back? Those days are gone. Now when you come back Odeo remembers where you were in that audio and resumes playing.

Change Is Good

Last night we released a WYSIWYG interface for customizing our free podcast player. Try it out (there's a link on every podcast page) and make the player match your site. Or just design it the way you like. We left our logo off so you can really get into making things look the way you like.

Check out my fancy red-and-black design for the Kitty-Yo Podcast. It took me all of 5 seconds but nobody needs to know that. If you do customize the player to match your site, let us know in the blog comments because we'd love to see them in action.
