Big New Stuff!

Audio Comments - There is now a "Reply" button under the audio player on Odeo pages. This way, when you record and share an Odeo with people, they will be able to record a response. (You'll get email notifications of this activity so you can keep up with the conversation.)

Profile Improvements - Along with the display of your Odeo contacts you can now add a picture, link, and text description to your profile. There's also a big button on there that says "Send me an Odeo." What's that? It's a new thing!

Send Me A Message - This feature provides a badge or button you can place on your blog, myspace, etc that will allow folks to record and send you a voice message. We made it so people don't need an Odeo account to send you a message.

We also did lots of behind-the-scenes stuff that's not quite as exciting for you as it is for us. The point is, play around with your new profile, the audio comments, and the send me a message buttons (there's tons of 'em to choose from!) and let us know what you think. We've got some super secret lab type work on the agenda for this month but we'll be paying attention to how you like the new features.

"Stuck in the radio mindset"

Flash: "Podfading" ravages the landscape of logorrheic bloggers | 43 Folders: "I understand it's useful to look back toward what new technologies remind us of, but you won't tease out the more novel uses of something until you let it just be what it is, allowing it to evolve without all the herding and expectations. In the fifties, the future always looked like TVs, and in the sixties it all looked like rocket ships. And so, today, podcasts look like relatively easy-to-produce (usually long-ass) radio shows, and that's cool, I suppose."
