TERRI HENDRIX returns to the WoodSongs stage with famed producer, multi-instrumentalist, and partner LLOYD MAINES to perform material from her 9th release The Spiritual Kind. Born in San Antonio, Terri noticed that she didn’t quite fit in with the other kids her age and began making up songs on her sister’s guitar. In 1996, she started her own label by way of a rejection letter from a major label and has steadily built a fan base through touring, mailing lists, and her website. Terri won a Grammy in 2003 for a song she co-wrote for The Dixie Chicks’ Home album. JONATHAN BYRD is a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and grew up singing in the Southern Baptist Church, where his father preached and his mother played piano. After four years in the Navy, he returned to Chapel Hill to play in rock bands. A friend of Jonathan’s invited him to an old-time fiddle festival in the mountains of southwest Virginia, where his writing began to change. Since then he has released several critically acclaimed albums and won the prestigious New Folk competition in Kerrville, TX. His latest CD is This Is The New That on Waterbug Records.
