MARIE KNIGHT is a music legend in the world of blues and soul. She spent 20 years performing with Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The two became a preeminent duo of the 1940s. Now living in Harlem, she has just released her first full length CD in the last 25 years on MC Records. Let Us Get Together is a tribute to the pioneering blues guitarist and songwriter Rev. Gary Davis. The CD was produced by Larry Campbell whose works include recording, touring and producing artists that include Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Roseanne Cash, Levon Helm, Paul Simon to name a few. Larry along with folk icon Janis Ian (who received private guitar lessons from the Reverend) and Mark Carpentieri on drums will be on stage and backing Marie for this very special one hour broadcast.
